Let me share with you a brief story of how Tameer-e-Nau Pakistan was founded. Covid 19 Pandemic hit the world in 2020 and changed all of our lives. The first case of the deadly virus didn't take long to reach Pakistan - so many people lost their jobs. At the time, I was in grade 9. It broke my heart to see many people suffering and thats when I decided to do something about it. At the time, I got
to know about UNDP's program called the Youth Innovation Challenge 2020. It seemed like it was God's way of showing me that I could do something to help the people of my country during those trying times. UNDPs Youth Innovation Challenge was offering grants worth PKR 70,000 to ideas that they thought would make a difference. I pitched my idea and it got selected. I won the initial grant - but needed to go through rigorous training and prove that I could do the project successfully in order to receive the rest of the grant money. I was aware of the fact that to help the Pakistani workforce, who had lost their livelihoods, there were multiple economic recovery packages and programs that were offered by the government, private organizations and individuals, The problem, however, was that the general public was not aware of such available resources. In order to boost the economy and livelihoods of people and to get them back on their feet, there was a dire need to create awareness of the opportunities that were available for people who had lost their jobs or means of income. I conducted research, collected data and identified such economic relief and philanthropic programs that were available to the general public. Additionally, I made this knowledge base available at an easily assessable portal that aimed to aid people in regaining their economic stability.
