The Pakistan Education Foundation (PEF) organized a distinguished Recognition Ceremony and Fellowship Lunch at Bar B.Q. Tonight, Blue Area, Islamabad, under the leadership of its Chairman, Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua, to honour eminent educational leaders who had recently been promoted to senior positions and to recognize the valuable services of distinguished principals upon their retirement.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza, Director General, Federal Directorate of Education, who had recently been selected through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and attended the event as the Chief Guest. The gathering was attended by senior educationists, school leaders, academicians, and members of the Pakistan Education Foundation.
In his welcome address, Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua emphasized that recognizing educators at significant milestones in their professional lives is an important means of promoting a culture of appreciation, motivation, and professional excellence. He observed that teachers, principals, educational administrators, and scholars are the architects of the nation's future and deserve to be honoured for their invaluable services to education.
Honouring Educational Excellence
The following distinguished educational leaders were presented with beautifully designed PEF Citations of Honour in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements:
• Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza --- Director General, Federal Directorate of Education
• Dr. Ehsan Mehmood – Director Schools, Federal Directorate of Education
• Dr. Maqsood Ahmad – Director Career Progression, Federal Directorate of Education
• Ms. Sameena Zia – Director to Director General, Federal Directorate of Education
• Mr. Abdul Wahid – Director Coordination, Federal Directorate of Education
• Professor Dr. Azhar Mehmood – Dean, Faculty of Education, International Islamic University Islamabad
Special tribute was paid to two highly respected educational leaders on the successful completion of their distinguished public service careers:
• Ms. Ruqia Parveen Raja, Principal, Islamabad Model School for Girls, G-9/3
• Mr. Naveed Altaf Sheikh, Principal, Islamabad Model School for Boys, E-9
The retirement segment of the ceremony was marked by heartfelt appreciation and warm emotions. The remarkable services rendered by Ms. Ruqia Parveen Raja during her tenure as Principal of Islamabad Model School for Girls, G-9/3, were acknowledged by all participants. Similarly, Mr. Naveed Altaf Sheikh was honoured for his distinguished career and unwavering commitment to educational leadership. Both retiring principals expressed their sincere gratitude to the Pakistan Education Foundation for recognizing their lifelong contributions, describing the honour as one of the most memorable moments of their professional careers.
