🌱 Youth Empowerment Club UAJK – Plantation Drive (Phase II) 🌱

Youth Empowerment Club UAJK successfully organized the second phase of the Plantation Drive at King Abdullah Campus (KAC), UAJK, in collaboration with the Institute of Geology and the Department of Botany.

From the Institute of Geology, the following faculty members led this meaningful activity:

🌿 Youth Empowerment Club UAJK – Plantation Drive 🌿

The Youth Empowerment Club UAJK organized a successful Plantation Drive at Chella Campus UAJK, in collaboration with the Psychology Department and the Sociology Department.

Distinguished faculty members from various departments actively participated in this green initiative, including:

A cabinet members meeting of the Youth Empowerment Club UAJK was held at the HHRD Regional Office Muzaffarabad, AJK.

The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an introductory session of all cabinet members. After that, our Club President Mr. Aqeel Mushtaq presented the past activities of the club.

Later, Mr. Waqas Chughtai (Regional Education Officer, HHRD) shared insights about the upcoming activities, and our former President Mr. Mir Ahsan Javed shared his valuable personal experience with the members.

In the end, Mr. Irshad Khan (Regional Manager, HHRD) concluded the meeting with his kind wishes and words of encouragement for the club.

On Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the Youth Empowerment Club (YEC) UAJK, in collaboration with other youth clubs of UAJK including GYM and YPDC, organized a plantation drive at UAJK Chella Campus to celebrate the day with purpose and unity.

The event began with a Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by the plantation drive, which was honored by the presence of Midhat Shehzad, Additional Chief Secretary (General), along with senior faculty members of UAJK.

Students and faculty came together to plant trees — reflecting their shared commitment to a greener, stronger Pakistan. 🌱🇵🇰

MoU Signing Ceremony between HHRD Pakistan and UAJK

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) and Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) Pakistan signed two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), reaffirming their shared commitment to youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and refugee welfare.

The first MoU supports the ongoing Youth Empowerment Program and Olive Plantation Project. As part of this initiative, HHRD has pledged to plant 5,000 olive trees on the UAJK campus—800 of which have already been planted—to raise environmental awareness and promote youth engagement in sustainable practices.

The second MoU focuses on improving refugee sustainability and health in Bagh through health screenings, awareness campaigns, and long-term development support.

The HHRD delegation included Madam Shahida Sarwar (SDLP Program Manager), Mr. Jodat Kamran (ERDM Program Manager), Mr. Ahmed Habib (Youth Empowerment Coordinator), Mr. Muhammad Arshad Khan (Regional Manager AJK), Mr. Waqas Chughtai (REO AJK), and Mr. Syed Shafaat Kazmi (RLO AJK).

From UAJK, participants included Dr. Rauf (Director ORIC), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafique (Dean, Faculty of Sciences), Dr. Wasim Akhter (Associate Professor), Mr. Tariq (ORIC Office), and Dr. Ayaz Arif (Director Campus), who led the olive plantation drive. Student leaders from the Youth Empowerment Club UAJK also took an active part in the event.
