SRD, with the support of the Christian Study Center (CSC), organized a daylong seminar attended by 96 participants, including youth and leaders from diverse faith communities. The seminar aimed to foster a stronger sense of unity by encouraging participants to look beyond differences of faith, ethnicity, race, and background, and to embrace their shared identity as Pakistanis. It emphasized the importance of working together across communities towards a shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive Pakistan.

Creating Space for Healing

SRD, in collaboration with PPI, conducted a Trauma Healing Session for women at the Diocese of Church, Peshawar, with 12 women participating.

The session provided a safe space for participants to share experiences and express pain that many had never had the opportunity to speak about. Through reflection and faith-based guidance, participants were encouraged to bring their burdens before God and find strength, comfort, and hope in Him.

Creating spaces to be heard, supported, and encouraged towards healing.

After receiving training in Healing the Wounds of Trauma, SRD and Purple Feathers Development jointly conducted a one-day Healing Group at St. James Anglican Orthodox Church, Islamabad. We are grateful to the Trauma Healing Institute for equipping us to serve. The session offered women a safe space to begin their healing journey, leaving them feeling heard, accepted, and hopeful, with a desire to continue walking toward healing, resilience, and restoration.

SRD recently facilitated Alpha Trainings, bringing together 33 church leaders and prayer network members from 9 churches and 2 prayer networks as part of our ongoing commitment to equipping local churches.

The sessions provided an opportunity to strengthen leadership capacity, and encourage collaboration among churches with a shared vision for reaching their communities. Through interactive discussions and shared learning, participants reflected on creating safe and welcoming spaces where people can ask questions, build authentic relationships, and explore the Christian faith.

We are thankful to all the church leaders and ministry partners who participated with such enthusiasm and openness. We look forward to seeing these partnerships continue to grow as churches work together to serve their communities with love, unity, and hope.

World Youth Skills Day, observed on July 15th, underscores the significance of equipping young individuals with the skills necessary for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

Since 2024, SRD has successfully established vocational training centers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, promoting skill development among marginalized communities. Through practical training and capacity-building initiatives, we empower young individuals to acquire the confidence and expertise necessary to secure sustainable livelihoods. We take pride in witnessing our program graduates translate their skills into opportunities, build successful careers, and become productive contributors to their families.

At the Society for Relief and Development (SRD), hope comes to life through partnership and collaboration. We don't work for communities; we work with them, standing alongside them, listening to their needs and developing solutions together. We believe lasting change begins with collaboration and together we create opportunities, strengthen resilience and bring hope to every life.

This International Hope Day, let's turn hope into action.
