📍 Completion of GPS Kool Seerto, Thotti – Upper Kohistan

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of Government Primary School (GPS) Kool Seerto at Thotti, Upper Kohistan under the RSS & CR Program funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund.

The school has been constructed using modern prefabricated structures to provide a safe, durable, and conducive learning environment for children in the area. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to improving access to quality education and resilient infrastructure in remote communities.

Together, we are building stronger and brighter futures for the children of Upper Kohistan. 🌱📚

The Centre of Excellence for Rural Development (CERD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Merged Areas at the PRCS Merged Areas Headquarters.
The agreement was signed by Mr Taj Ali, Programme Manager Health and Nutrition CERD on behalf of Chief Executive Khan Muhammad and PRCS Merged Areas Acting Secretary Shahid Malik.
This partnership aims to strengthen humanitarian collaboration, enhance community resilience, and expand support for vulnerable communities in the region.
CERD looks forward to working closely with PRCS Merged Areas to deliver timely and impactful humanitarian assistance.

With the collaboration of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund-PPAF and PTCL, Training Need Assessment (TNA) of Ba-Ikhtiar Women program, a women empowerment initiative has been successfully completed in District Swabi, during which eligible women were selected. Project Manager Centre of Excellence for Rural Development-CERD, Wisal Khan, briefed the participants about training enhancement program and digital marketing, explaining how women can sell their skills, products and services online through digital platforms and earn a livelihood leading towards empowerment while working from home.

This project will not only provide employment to deserving women but will also create dignified livelihood opportunities at their doorsteps. The next phase of the training will begin in March, through which 50 selected and deserving women will benefit from digital skills and marketing training.

On this initiative, local females and community elders expressed their gratitude to the PPAF, PTCL, and CERD.

It was a valuable Aawaz-II learning and experience-sharing forum held at Marriott Islamabad last week. During the session, the British Council AAWAZ-II Head of Department (HOD) highlighted the role of the district Buner Youth Officer in panel members, appreciating his field-based insights on the registration of youth volunteers with the District Youth Department.
The discussion reflected the importance of practical experience, coordination with government departments, and meaningful youth engagement at the grassroots level.
