🕊️ International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition | 23 August

Today, Community Services Program - CSP joins the global community in remembering the millions of people who suffered under the transatlantic slave trade and in honoring their resilience, dignity and struggle for freedom.
This day, observed every year on 23 August, commemorates the uprising that began in Saint-Domingue (present-day Haiti) on the night of 22–23 August 1791—an important milestone in the long struggle that contributed to the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade.
🕯️ We remember the victims.
🤝 We stand for equality and human dignity.
🕊️ We reject racism, exploitation and all forms of discrimination.
🌍 We commit to building a more just, peaceful and inclusive world.

Let us learn from history, preserve collective memory, and ensure that the lessons of the past guide us toward a future where freedom, dignity and equality belong to everyone.

Bringing Maternal & Child Healthcare Closer to Home

In communities where women once had to travel long distances to access essential healthcare, "Nazia Shaheen" is helping bring vital maternal and child health services closer to their homes at village Nara Barhwal, district Kotli. 🏡❤️

As a dedicated local midwife, Nazia often travels long distances and remains available at all hours to support women during childbirth, emergencies, pregnancy, and newborn care. Her services also extend to elderly women and mothers who are unable to travel, making her an invaluable source of care and support within the community. 👩‍🍼🌿

🏥 Community Services Program - CSP , with the generous support of Kashmir Fund DK , has established this Health Center to improve access to quality healthcare for women and children in underserved communities of Kashmir.

As part of our continued efforts to strengthen community-based healthcare, CSP and KFDK also focus on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and capacity of local midwives. Training sessions and seminars provide opportunities to share practical experiences, strengthen safe maternal and newborn care practices, and improve support for women before, during, and after childbirth. 🤝📚

Nazia’s dedication represents the strength, compassion, and commitment of countless women health workers who serve their communities every day—often in challenging circumstances and with limited resources. 🌷

Expanding the Reach of Education Across Pakistan 🇵🇰📚

Community Services Program - CSP, through its "Education Program" , continues to expand its efforts to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

📍 As part of this commitment, CSP has expanded its education initiatives to "Qambar Shahdadkot, Sindh" , reaching communities where children—particularly those who are out of school due to limited access to educational facilities—face significant barriers to learning.

🏫 Through "CSP Education Centers" , we are working to bring education closer to underserved communities by providing children with a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. These centers aim to help out-of-school children reconnect with education and develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to move forward.

🤝 Chairman CSP, Mr. Siddique Hussain, recently visited CSP Education Centers in Sindh to review ongoing educational activities, meet with teachers and students, and assess the progress of the program. His visit reaffirmed CSP's commitment to strengthening community-based education and ensuring that no child is left behind.
