𝐁𝐚-𝐈𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

FACE has commenced a one-month Tailoring Training under the Ba-Ikhtiar Women Project from 13 February to 12 March 2026 at Sanatzar Rajanpur. This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and 𝐔𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐞 / 𝐏𝐓𝐂𝐋, with technical training support from Institute of Rural Management (IRM) as the third service provider.

A total of 24 women, selected according to PPAF’s criteria, are participating in this program. The project aims to equip women in Rajanpur with practical skills in tailoring and hand embroidery, while also strengthening their digital capabilities so they can establish and grow home-based businesses.

This journey is not only about tailoring—it’s about confidence, courage, and new beginnings.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐂𝐌) | 07–11 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 2026

FACE team strengthened its project management capacity through a five-day International PCM Training, held at Regalia Hotel, Islamabad, organized by MDF Netherlands in partnership with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and Helvetas Pakistan.

The training, led by international experts, Mr. Sam Boering and Mr. Thilakan Sathasivam, covered essential aspects of project management, including project cycle management, results-based planning, problem analysis, theory of change, stakeholder engagement, indicator development, and monitoring & evaluation methodologies.

This training equips FACE team to implement projects that create lasting, measurable impact for communities.

As agriculture moves toward a more digital future, FACE is ensuring farmers are not left behind.

Through its Digital Village initiative, FACE is bringing technology directly to the fields. With tools like a local weather station, drone spraying, precision laser land levelling, digital pest traps, and a smart tube well system, farmers are now better equipped to make informed decisions and improve productivity.

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 🌱

Through FACE’s Kitchen Gardening Initiative, women are being supported with quality vegetable seeds and practical training on how to grow, protect, and manage household vegetables safely and sustainably.

The result is more than fresh produce—it’s improved nutrition, confidence, and resilience at the household level.

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 — 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.

On 21–22 January, the NEC Third-Party Monitoring Team carried out the Quarterly Monitoring Visit of the RSS&CR Project in UC Noorpur Manjhuwala, Tehsil Jampur, District Rajanpur. The project is funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and implemented by FACE.

The visit included meaningful engagements with members of Community Organization (CO) Basti Ashiq Hussain Lashari and Village Organization (VO) Kanwala.

Community discussions focused on:
- Formation and functioning of COs and VOs
- Development of Village Development Plans (VDPs)
- Awareness created through project trainings on CBDRM, GBV, SBDRM, Human Rights, Women’s Rights, CMST, LMST, and more

The NEC team also physically verified key Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) schemes, including:
✔️ Rehabilitation of Civil Dispensaries (Malkani & Noorpur Manjhuwala)
✔️ Rehabilitation of Government Schools (Primary & Elementary)
✔️ Handpumps and Nakkas

These visits strengthen transparency, improve implementation, and keep community needs at the centre.

In line with 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄’𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐔 with the 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐡𝐰𝐚, 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 has launched a 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 at 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧, to protect olive trees from woolly aphids.

Using 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, the application was precise, safe, and environmentally responsible.

FACE has signed an 𝐌𝐨𝐔 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐡𝐰𝐚 (𝐆𝐨𝐊𝐏) to support small and medium farmers where impact matters most.

By combining expertise and resources, this collaboration focuses on improving per-acre yields and promoting profitable, sustainable farming practices, specially in the field of Olive.

Together, we are working toward stronger farmers, greater food security, and long-term agricultural resilience.

Today, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, in collaboration with the 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐲 (𝐏𝐂𝐏), commenced a three-day training on “𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐏𝐎𝐬” at Islamabad Hotel, with 28 participants from partner organisations.

The training is being facilitated by 𝐌𝐚𝐚𝐳 𝐔𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐢, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐏𝐂𝐏), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐢, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 (𝐏𝐂𝐏). This training is being conducted under the 𝐌𝐨𝐔 signed 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐏𝐀𝐅 and 𝐏𝐂𝐏 for the project “Strengthening Civil Society Organisations through Capacity Building and Governance Mechanisms of PPAF’s Partner Organisations.”

The sessions focus on diversified resource mobilisation strategies, financial sustainability, and institutional resilience, aimed at strengthening the long-term capacity of partner organisations.

The initiative reflects PPAF and P*P’s continued commitment to institutional development, equipping civil society organisations with practical tools to build sustainable, accountable, and impact-driven institutions.

Healthy potatoes start with timely diagnosis and informed action in the field. From 16–18 December, FACE organized a Workshop on Potato Diseases, Disorders, and Field Diagnostics at Sonehri Restaurant, Sahiwal, with 50 participants joining to strengthen their knowledge and on-field decision-making.

The workshop was led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐤𝐞 𝐖𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐧, Honorary Member of the European Association for Potato Research (EAPR) and senior potato expert at Wageningen University & Research.

With experience in over 30 countries, including Pakistan, Indonesia, India, and Kenya, he specializes in potato storage systems, production analysis, and farm-level yield improvement. During the training, he shared practical guidance on identifying diseases and making field-level decisions to reduce losses and enhance productivity.

By equipping participants with hands-on expertise and global best practices, FACE continues to support farmers in protecting crops, improving yields, and building a stronger potato value chain in Pakistan.

𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢-𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧

Every potato tells a story—from the farmer’s field to the consumer’s plate. But without proper storage, much of this hard work can go to waste.

Recognizing this critical gap, FACE conducted a 𝐭𝐰𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 on 9–10 December, 2025, at Senehri Restaurant, Sahiwal.

The training brought together over 45 participants, including cold storage owners, managers, and sector representatives, to explore practical solutions for improving storage performance and minimizing post-harvest losses.

The session was led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐣𝐤, an international potato storage and processing expert with more than 36 years of experience. He shared hands-on strategies to improve storage efficiency, maintain quality, and reduce post-harvest losses.

By connecting local stakeholders with global expertise, FACE is helping farmers and businesses to build a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable potato value chain in Pakistan.
