The Senior Citizens Organization Pakistan organized an iftar dinner in the honor of Handicapped persons of AHWP (Association for welfare of handicspped persons) on 7th March, 2026 in the premises of the AHWP.

,the President could not join as he was not well.
Ms.Seerat Shahina, the GS TSCO-PAK welcomed the honaable guests. She said disability is inevitable it can happen to any one at ant time in life and Disability is not a limitation on capabilities. According to WHO 15%of population globally lives with some form of disability .As per Sindh Human Rights commission 2024, 28.4% of disabled population reside in Sindh.
Disabilities are diverse covering,mobility impairment, visual/hearing impairment ,mental and learning issues and chronic illnesses.
The Government has established separate department of Empowerment for persons with Disabilities. (DEPD) .
Disability Act 2018 grants individuals rights of Dignity,discrimination and 5% qouta in jobs.
As the members AHWP desired to know from where they can get free help like artificial limbs etc
The GS TSCO-PAK explained that artificial limbs and prosthetices restore mobility, independence and quality of life.
In this regard

4.The national Council for the Rehabilitation of disabled persons.karachi
5.Sindh Institute of physical medicine &
Rehabilitation center karachi ,
are prviding free limbs as well as after assessment providing treatment.
The DEPD is arranging window camps perodically in karachi and Hyderabad to assess patients and fix free limbs.
The President of AHWP briefed about their Association that Association was established in2005 they have around 400 members they provide tring of zari embroidery and helping them selves.They help their members in getting Govt. and private jobs.
It is very difficult to get free treatment. He said he will contact the Indus Hospital and Baitulmal and other facilities.
As the mother inlaw of Mr.Sajid Shaikh, Secretary Information passed away on the night of 6th March,Ms. Seerat Shahina requested for dua and dua was offered by Mr.Saeed Khan.
Around 50 members attended the Iftar Party.Mr.Khald Masoud,member Ec.Mr.Iqbal Shaikh,
Mr.Rafiq Rajput,
Mr.Sarwar Naeem participated from TSCO
Mr. Iqbal Shaikh really warkhard did good job in arrangements of the party.
The Vice president and GS, Mr.Mateen thanked on behalf AWHP on inviting them for Iftar dinner.
The program ended with happy gesture.
