PLAHR strongly condemns the unjustified increase in fuel prices, which places an unbearable burden on already struggling citizens. This decision will further escalate inflation, affect daily livelihoods, and deepen economic hardship. We urge the authorities to immediately review and reverse this anti-people measure in the interest of public welfare.

PLAHR – CONDEMNATION STATEMENT

Pakistan Lawyers Association for Human Rights (PLAHR) strongly condemns the brutal attack on Advocate Dhani Bux Solangi.

The alleged attempt by the DG Narcotics officials to forcibly enter his home during a raid and the violent assault upon refusal is a serious violation of law and an attack on the dignity of the legal fraternity.

Such abuse of authority and violence against a member of the legal community is unacceptable.

PLAHR demands an immediate, transparent investigation and strict legal action against all officials involved in this incident.

Condemnation Statement – PLAHR

The Pakistan Lawyers Alliance for Human Rights (PLAHR) expresses deep sorrow and grave concern over the tragic su***de of a Medical Officer at Civil Hospital Mithi. The letter reportedly left behind by the doctor raises extremely serious allegations regarding the conduct and alleged pressure exerted by the hospital administration.

PLAHR strongly condemns this tragic and disturbing incident. The allegations mentioned in the letter must be taken with utmost seriousness, and a high-level, transparent, and impartial inquiry must be initiated immediately so that the truth can be brought before the public.

PLAHR demands the immediate registration of an FIR and strict legal proceedings against all individuals responsible for mentally harassing, intimidating, or abusing their authority against the doctor. If these allegations are proven, such conduct represents a blatant abuse of power and a clear violation of the law and basic human rights.

This unfortunate incident raises serious concerns about workplace harassment and institutional pressure within public sector institutions. It is also feared that many such cases remain hidden due to fear, pressure, and lack of accountability.

PLAHR further demands the immediate suspension of all officials allegedly involved, pending a fair and independent investigation. Accountability must be ensured so that justice is delivered to the deceased and his family, and such tragic incidents are prevented in the future.

No individual or institution is above the law. Justice, transparency, and accountability must prevail.

Condemnation Statement

Pakistan Lawyers for Human Rights strongly condemns the reported killing of two arrested suspects in an alleged police encounter in Bubak/Buberlou. Reports indicate that the suspects were already in police custody and videos of their arrest are also available, which raises serious concerns about the authenticity of the so-called encounter.

Such actions, if proven true, constitute a grave violation of human rights, due process, and the rule of law. Every accused person has the fundamental right to a fair trial and to be presented before a court of law.

PLAHR demands an independent and transparent judicial inquiry into the incident, including a thorough review of the arrest videos and all related evidence. If the encounter is found to be staged, those responsible must be held accountable under the law.

The state and its law enforcement agencies must uphold justice and ensure that extrajudicial actions are not tolerated in a democratic society.

Pakistan Lawyers Association for Human Rights (PLAHR) strongly condemns the sudden increase of Rs. 55 per litre in the prices of petrol and diesel. This decision will place an additional economic burden on the public, who are already suffering from severe inflation. Such a massive hike is unacceptable and will further increase the cost of living for ordinary citizens.

PLAHR urges the government to immediately review this decision and take measures to provide relief to the people.

Condemnation Statement

We strongly and unequivocally condemn the brutal military attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran that resulted in the **death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei and other innocent victims. This unprovoked strike, carried out by foreign military forces, represents a grave violation of international law and the sovereignty of a nation.

The targeting of a nation’s highest leadership—alongside reports of other killed and wounded civilians and family members—cannot be justified under any circumstances. Acts of war that bring about loss of life, pain for families, and instability in the region only deepen suffering and escalate tensions that affect global peace.

We honor the memory of those who lost their lives, recognize their sacrifice, and extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The killing of leaders and non-combatants alike should never be a tool of political conflict. We call on the international community to uphold principles of justice, to seek peaceful resolution of disputes, and to prevent further bloodshed that threatens the lives and security of all peoples.

May peace, stability, and respect for human dignity prevail amid these tragic developments.

Condemnation Statement

The Pakistan Lawyers Association for Human Rights strongly condemns the recent actions carried out by the police in Umerkot, which have reportedly resulted in harassment, forced evictions, and the arrest of vulnerable and underprivileged residents.

Law enforcement agencies are entrusted with the duty to protect citizens and uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. Even where a court order exists, its ex*****on must strictly adhere to principles of due process, proportionality, and respect for human dignity—particularly concerning women, children, and marginalized communities. Any use of excessive force, intimidation, or unlawful detention is unacceptable and constitutes a serious violation of fundamental human rights.

We call for:
• An immediate, independent, and transparent inquiry into the incident.
• The release of all individuals unlawfully or arbitrarily detained.
• Protection and restitution for affected families.
• Accountability for any officials found to have exceeded their lawful authority.

No individual or institution is above the law. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done. The Pakistan Lawyers Association for Human Rights stands firmly with the victims and reiterates its commitment to safeguarding constitutional rights and ensuring accountability through lawful and democratic means.
