On October 10, 2025, SAFWCO GRASP team, in collaboration with the PPAF team, conducted a joint monitoring visit to the Karachi Tea Company (KTC) site to assess the functionality of the pulping unit and cold storage facility.

During the visit, it was observed that the pulping unit was operational, actively extracting apple pulp, while the cold storage was fully functional and being used to properly store the extracted pulp. Overall, the site operations were found to be smooth and satisfactory.

On October 7, 2025, SAFWCO-GRASP team conducted a joint field visit to the SME grantees of the 0.5 million matching grant in Village Aabri, UC Sawan Khan Gopang, District Hyderabad.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure the installation of project visibility signboards, review SMEsโ€™ record-keeping practices, and mobilize SMEs for the preparation of their six-month business plans and business follow-ups under GRASP project.

SAFWCO-GRASP project staff participated in an Agriculture/Farmer Session (Zarai Baithak) on Access to Finance with Women Entrepreneurs, organized by Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in Village Mir Rasool Bux Talpur, UC Chuki, Hyderabad, on October 3, 2025.

The SAFWCO team represented SAFWCO and shared insights on the GRASP Projectโ€™s Access to Finance component. Participants included the Access to Finance Specialist, Communication & Monitoring Specialist, Team Lead, and Monitoring Officer.

The event was graced by the presence of the ZTBL General Manager and Zonal Manager, along with representatives from the Sindh Women Chamber of Commerce, officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, and numerous Women farmers and agriculturists.

The session provided farmers, particularly women entrepreneurs, with valuable information on various Agricultural / financial products, loan facilities, and banking procedures offered by ZTBL and other partners. Enabling them to explore potential opportunities for credit, investment, and business growth.

Today, SAFWCO-GRASP conducted another Defence Day celebration in Village Mohammad Siddique Brohi, UC Sawan Khan Gopang, Hyderabad district, together with FCBS and SMEs. The program featured a Gender Sensitization Session and a Tree Plantation Drive under the initiative โ€œAik Beti Aik Shajarโ€.

The event honored the spirit of a Resilient and Rising Pakistan by engaging communities, sharing stories of unity and hope, and reinforcing a collective commitment to peace, prosperity, and inclusive development with SMEs. This activity holds special importance as it links community awareness with SME engagement, promotes gender equality, and fosters environmental sustainability.

GRASPis funded by European Union in Pakistan implemented by International Trade Centre (ITC) with its partners SMEDA - Pakistan, FAO Pakistan and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). Safwcois implementing GRASP project with the support of PPAF in District Hyderabad and Karachi region.
