GCCI: Strengthening Business in the Federal Budget

On June 1, 2026, the President of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Muhammad Ali Humayun Butt, participated in a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other national chamber leaders in Islamabad. The objective of this consultation was to present the recommendations of the Gujranwala business community and to seek an industrial-friendly framework for the upcoming federal budget 2026-27.

During the session, the GCCI delegation engaged in a detailed dialogue with the Prime Minister, emphasizing the need for measures that reduce the cost of production and stimulate industrial growth. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged these inputs and reiterated the government's commitment to creating a more favorable environment for investment. Key directives issued during the meeting included the resolution of pending tax refund cases by June 15 and the strategic relocation of PRAL headquarters to Karachi to streamline export processes.
