(Miss Yasmin ,AIOU)
I am glade to share a brief news and some clocks of the Annual Partners Conference of Endangered Languages organised by the Forum for Language Initiatives (FLI) on 8th April, 2026 in Islamabad. Over 20 representatives from 16 languages of Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan participated in the moot. It is worth noting that there was strong presence of Wakhi language speakers from G-B and Islamabad. Lutfullah sb, president of the Wakhi Tajik Cultural Association (WTCA), represented WTCA and gave a detailed presentation about the Association’s activities during 2025 and action plan for 2026.

He shared details of the WATCA engagement with the Wakhi regions in Broghil, Gupis, Ishkoman and Yasin in Ghizer and Tashkurgan, China, preservation and promotion of Wakhi language and youth involvement initiatives.

Mr Lutfullah highlighted key achievements of 2025, including language workshops, publication projects, and heritage documentation, while the 2026 plan envisages publishing books and digital archiving and cross-border cultural collaboration to strengthen Wakhi identity.

D.W. Baig represented Gojal Educational and Cultural Association (GECA) Rawalpindi-Islamabad and highlighted the issues related to developing common script, orthography and basic principles of language grammar, phonograph and syntax.

It was an honour for me to sit with the panel of presidium along with noted scholars and linguists.
