Community Educational Development Foundation (CEDeF) is a non-profit and a welfare organization registered in 2009 under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 of Pakistan, working for educational development in Gilgit-Baltistan. It strives to achieve excellence in education by focusing on the holistic development of child through establishing educational institutions of high standard. Beside
s, scholarship, Awareness & mobilization and Youth Development Program it is also developing existing community based schools in different remote areas through its focused schools development program. Within a short period of time since its formation in 2008, CEDeF has established five institutions in Gilgit city, namely, Abul Qasim Educational Complex (AQEC) for boys, The Learning Academy Gilgit for boys and girls, Learning Garden Montessori for boys and girls TLA boys’ hostel and TLA girls’ hostel. Furthermore, it has adopted three community schools namely Nagar Academy Chalt, Shahwali Academy Ghulmet and Faizi Academy Asqurdas for their capacity building and systems development in collaboration with BoG/BoDs of respective school. In addition to above said programs, so far, scores of students studying in different reputed and professional institutions have benefited and are benefiting from the CEDeF’s scholarship program. In the long-term, CEDeF’s educational projects are going to be the stepping stones toward the development of a ‘Knowledge City’.
