SLUM School by Rohayl

SLUM School by Rohayl World’s one of the first & Pakistan's first solar night school by Mohammad Rohayl Varind. SLUM = Solar Lights Under Moon. It is a revolution. Faisal Khan Tarakai.

An alternative education system for millions of child labourers & underprivileged youth. SLUM School was initiated in 2016 by Rohayl. Rohayl’s hands-on work in education started more than 15 years ago, in 2011, when he realized that education is the only way to truly transform Pakistan. He began visiting government schools in Karachi and organizing sponsored trips to recreational and educational p

laces, such as the Karachi Zoo, he used these opportunities to personally educate the children about animals, nature, and wildlife. By covering their expenses, including transportation and meals, he ensured that government school students gained equitable access to holistic, real-world educational experiences that actively expanded their horizons. SLUM School was founded in 2016 by Mohammad Rohayl Varind. SLUM School is more than a charity or welfare initiative. From day one, it was built as a complete alternative education system for the millions of children Pakistan had forgotten: out-of-school children, street children, child labourers, children born in slums, underprivileged youth, and illiterate adults who the system left behind. For more than 10 years, Rohayl has proven what one man with a mission can do. One man army is not a title it is a testament. A decade of showing up, building from nothing, and refusing to let poverty be a death sentence for a child’s future. The children no government counted, no system protected, and no school welcomed. The child labourers whose tiny hands carried bricks before they ever held a pencil. The street children who learned survival before they learned the alphabet. The children of slums who were told by silence, by neglect, by poverty that education was not for them. SLUM School by Mohammad Rohayl Varind was built to tell them otherwise. It began with one man, one belief, and one refusal the refusal to accept that millions of Pakistani children would grow up without ever knowing what they were capable of. Mohammad Rohayl Varind did not wait for permission. He did not wait for the government to act, for donors to arrive, or for the world to notice. He walked into the slums himself. He sat with the children the world had abandoned. And he built from nothing, with nothing Pakistan’s first solar-powered night school for out-of-school children, street children, child labourers, children born in slums, underprivileged youth, and illiterate adults who the system left behind. SLUM School by Mohammad Rohayl Varind is Pakistan’s First Solar Night School & World’s One of the First Solar Night School which was initiated in 2016. It’s an attempt to educate millions of child labourers, underprivileged youth & illiterate adults after the sunset using solar power because they work the whole day and gets free from their jobs/work at night. Rohayl’s educational programs have successfully educated thousands of underserved learners, ranging from out-of-school children, street children, and child laborers to underprivileged youth and illiterate adults. By leveraging social media and his free online educational websites, he has expanded this mission's digital footprint to reach millions worldwide. A Historic Milestone: SLUM School by Rohayl Recognized by KP Government. "From the Streets to the State Agenda: A Victory for Child Laborers and Out-of-School Children". We are proud to announce a monumental achievement in Rohayl Varind’s 10 year journey to educate the forgotten children of Pakistan. The Elementary & Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF), under the leadership of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has officially prioritized SLUM School by Rohayl as a key model for modernizing non-formal education and access to education for all in the province. This is not just a policy update; it is a promise to thousands of child laborers and millions of out of school children that the state stands behind their right to learn. Chaired by the Honorable Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Mr. The Board officially approved the establishment and expansion of SLUM School as a primary initiative to combat illiteracy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Province). Moreover, we don’t take cash donations we prefer people to donate their time. We want people to volunteer at our SLUM School. We also want people to buy a board and a board marker themselves and start teaching unprivileged kids around them, like their maids, the security guards or their children, and so on.
