Late post:

We are incredibly proud of our participants, Mahshameen and Anya, for representing The Young Changemakers at Blagrave’s Youth Led Change Day – The Future is Ours in Birmingham.

This inspiring gathering brought together young people, changemakers, and organisations committed to creating a more just, inclusive, and youth-led future. It was a powerful reminder of the collective strength young people hold when their voices, creativity, and leadership are truly valued.

More than a month later, the message still resonates strongly with us:

🎥 “The Future is Ours” sends a message of the collective power we all hold — celebrating the incredible work young people continue to do, while reminding us to keep pushing forward even in challenging and hostile times.

Mahshameen and Anya’s participation reflects the heart of what we believe at The Young Changemakers: empowering young people to lead conversations, challenge barriers, and shape the future through courage, creativity, and collaboration.

Special thanks and credit to Blagrave and the amazing videographers for capturing and sharing such a meaningful experience.

We are proud to share that our Executive Director, Danish Sohail, was selected as a Panelist for the IDEAS Youth Debate on the Post-2030 Education & Learning Agenda.

This global platform, contributing directly to consultations led by UNESCO, brought together youth leaders from across the Commonwealth to share insights on the future of education.

During the debate, Danish highlighted the urgent need to move beyond exam-focused systems and towards education that is skills-based, creative, and human-centred. Drawing from our work at The Young Changemakers, he emphasised the transformative power of arts—such as theatre and storytelling—in building confidence, critical thinking, and social awareness among young people.

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, where youth voices are not just heard, but directly contribute to shaping global education policy beyond 2030.

We remain committed to amplifying youth voices and using creative approaches to drive meaningful change in education systems worldwide.

Proud moment for The Young Changemakers!

Our Founding Director Sobia Ali’s documentary

🎬 Vanishing Voices: Forced Conversion in Pakistan (2023)
has been selected for screening at the Women Deliver 2026 Arts Hub in Australia 🇦🇺.

This film brings forward the lived realities of young girls and minority communities in Sindh, Pakistan amplifying voices that are too often silenced and calling for dignity, justice, and freedom of belief.

Grateful to see these important stories reaching a global platform 🌍

🎭 UNMUTED

What if the classroom isn’t as silent as it seems?

Behind raised hands, lowered eyes, and quiet obedience…
there are stories waiting to be heard.

Unmuted is a powerful, youth-created theatre piece exploring the realities of teacher-student dynamics — the pressure, the misunderstandings, the silence… and the courage to finally speak.

Created as part of Theatre for Inclusive Change, this performance is raw, honest, and led entirely by young voices.

This is not just acting.
This is truth on stage.

💭 “I felt seen.”
💭 “This is what actually happens.”
💭 “People need to watch this.”

Watch. Reflect. Listen.

Because the moment we become unmuted…
everything changes.

We are proud to share that our Executive Director has been recognised as a QECT 100 Young Leaders Awardee 2026 by The Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust.

This recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a reflection of the journey we have been on together at The Young Changemakers. From working in communities that are often overlooked to creating spaces where young people can find their voice, this moment belongs to every individual who has been part of the movement.

Over the years, we have witnessed how purpose, resilience, and faith can transform lives. What started as a vision has grown into a community of young leaders committed to creating meaningful change.

This recognition connects us to a global network of young leaders working across the Commonwealth to drive impact in their communities. It strengthens our commitment to continue empowering young people through creativity, leadership, and social action.

We remain grateful for every step of this journey — and this is only the beginning.

✨ Theatre for Inclusive Change – Slough ✨

What happens when young people are given a space to be heard, to explore, and to create without judgement?

You get this. 💛

A room full of voices discovering their power.
Stories being shared with honesty.
Barriers breaking. Confidence building. Connections forming.

Our recent interactive theatre workshop in Slough wasn’t just about acting — it was about expression, inclusion, and transformation. From laughter to deep reflection, these young changemakers stepped into a space where their experiences mattered and their voices shaped the narrative.

🎭 “I felt seen.”
🎭 “This was different.”
🎭 “Everyone should experience this.”

And that’s exactly why we do what we do.

This is more than theatre.
This is change in motion.

“Before this workshop, I saw theatre as just performance—but now I understand it as a way of seeing myself more clearly…” – Anya

At our workshops, theatre goes beyond the stage. It becomes a space for self-discovery, confidence, and connection. Anya’s journey is a reminder that when we create safe, creative spaces, people don’t just perform—they grow. 🎭

If you’re ready to explore your voice, build confidence, and experience the transformative power of theatre, we’d love to have you with us.

“Trust is where it all begins.”

In this moment from our Theatre for Inclusive Change workshop, our young participants dive into powerful exercises that build trust, connection, and confidence.

Through movement and collaboration, they learn what it truly means to rely on one another — to lead, to be led, and to create together.

Because in theatre… and in life…
✨ You can’t tell a story alone
✨ You grow when you trust others
✨ Confidence comes from connection

Watching these young changemakers step out of their comfort zones and support each other is exactly why we do what we do. 🌱

More voices. More stories. More impact — coming soon.

In this clip, one of our young participants reflects on the first day of our Theatre for Inclusive Change workshop, where the group explored image-making exercises to express ideas, emotions, and real-life situations through body language and movement.

These powerful exercises helped the participants understand themes like bullying, exclusion, and empathy — using their bodies to create “living images” that tell stories without words.

Now on Day 2, the group takes these ideas further as they begin developing their own original theatre piece together.

This is what youth-led creativity looks like — discovering confidence, voice, and collaboration through the arts. 🌱

We’re excited to introduce our new series “Changemakers in Action” — where young people share their journeys, reflections, and experiences from The Young Changemakers workshops and events.

In this clip, one of our theatre participants talks about the play the group created around bullying — the character she portrayed, the challenges they explored, and how they worked together to build a performance completely from their own ideas.

From discussion… to rehearsal… to stage — this is what youth-led creativity looks like.
Not just acting, but understanding, empathy, and confidence growing in real time. 🌱

Their voices are at the heart of everything we do.

More stories coming soon.
