Safe Delivery Safe Mother

Safe Delivery Safe Mother Our aim is to reduce the extremely high rate of Maternal Mortality in Pakistan by addressing its leading cause, Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH).

When floods disrupt lives, rebuilding must go beyond homes, it must restore opportunities.

We travelled to Dadu to inaugurate newly built primary schools for flood-affected communities, creating safe spaces where children can learn, grow, and dream. From books, school bags, and sports equipment to first aid kits, water pumps, and solar power, these schools were designed as more than classrooms, they are community hubs bringing education, clean water, and essential resources to off-grid villages.

Because every child deserves the chance to learn, no matter how remote their home may be. ❤️

In 2022, devastating floods left communities across Pakistan without homes, and Dadu, Sindh, was among the worst affected.

In Gul Muhammad Chuto village, families faced months of standing floodwater and were left living in temporary shelters.

SDSM responded with a different approach: sustainable, solar-powered Paper Log Houses designed around the needs of flood-affected communities.

Built using paper tubes, bamboo and a flood-resilient foundation, these homes offer an affordable and practical alternative to conventional housing.

But a home is more than four walls.

It means access to water. Solar power. A place to rest. A safe space to rebuild life.

After successfully handing over homes to deserving families, SDSM is continuing to build schools in these communities.

From disaster rehabilitation to sustainable recovery, we are building back stronger

Strong youth. Healthy futures. 🩷

Young people are not just the future of Pakistan, they are shaping the families and communities of tomorrow.

📊 Did you know?

• Around 67% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 30.

• Adolescents make up approximately 23% of Pakistan’s population.

• Pakistan’s adolescent birth rate is around 41 births per 1,000 girls aged 15–19.

• More than 18% of women in Pakistan are married before the age of 18.

These numbers remind us why health education matters for both young women and young men.

Understanding reproductive health, pregnancy, nutrition, maternal care and the importance of skilled healthcare can help young couples make informed decisions and build healthier families.

Because preparing for a healthy family starts before pregnancy, with knowledge, communication and care.

Breastfeeding is one of the first and most powerful gifts a mother can give her baby. 🤱💙

In Pakistan, many mothers want to breastfeed but often face challenges, limited support, returning to work, family myths, or simply not having the right information. A little encouragement from those around them can make all the difference.

Breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for babies, strengthens their immune system, and helps protect them from common childhood illnesses. It also benefits mothers by supporting recovery after childbirth and reducing the risk of certain diseases.

This World Breastfeeding Week, let's replace judgment with support. Whether it's a mother in your family, your neighborhood, or your workplace, your encouragement matters.

Because when we support breastfeeding, we're investing in healthier children, healthier mothers, and a healthier Pakistan. 🇵🇰

Breastfeeding is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to give a baby the healthiest start in life. 💛🤱

This World Breastfeeding Week, let's celebrate mothers while also recognizing that they need support, not pressure. From families and healthcare providers to workplaces and communities, everyone has a role to play.

📊 In Pakistan, only 48% of infants are exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life. Increasing this rate could save lives, improve child health, and give more babies the nutrition they need to thrive.

Let's work together to create a world where every mother is empowered to breastfeed, and every baby gets the best possible start.

Did you know that more than half of pregnant women in Pakistan are anaemic?

Maternal nutrition isn't just about eating more, it's about eating the right foods. When mothers receive adequate nutrition before and during pregnancy, the risks of anaemia, premature birth, and low birth weight decrease significantly.

The good news? Many nutritious foods are already available locally. By improving awareness and access, we can help mothers have healthier pregnancies and give every child a stronger start in life.

💚 Green flags in pregnancy aren't about being perfect, they're about being prepared.

Asking questions, attending your prenatal checkups, recognizing warning signs, and planning where you'll deliver are all signs that you're taking care of both yourself and your baby.

Every appointment, every question, and every informed decision is a step toward a safer pregnancy.

Because the biggest green flag of all? Choosing your health. 🌿

Every mother deserves more than just products, she deserves preparation, support, and quality healthcare.

We often think a pregnancy starter pack is filled with pillows, baby bottles, cravings, and newborn essentials. While those can make the journey more comfortable, they're not what truly keeps mothers and babies safe.

The real essentials are:
🤍 Regular prenatal checkups
🤍 A skilled healthcare provider
🤍 A birth and emergency plan
🤍 Timely access to quality maternal care

Because a safe pregnancy isn't built on things, it's built on informed decisions, proper care, and a strong support system.

Let's shift the conversation from what's nice to have to what's necessary for every mother. 💜
