BACKGROUND
Community involvement was conceptualized as a major and most effective tool of sustainable development. Promoting this concept RSP's initiated the process of
Organizing communities in Chitral, through formation of Community-based organization both of Male and Female, a

nd engaging them as development network. In latter days it was felt that in this institutional framework an upper strata organization will be more instrumental to further boost the development efforts and will provide an integrated and coordinated apparatus for the attainment of the set goals. In the context as upper layer organization ICDP got formed with consultation, coordination and participation of community through the CBOs, Village Organizations Women Village Organizations and Youth Forums both for male and female in the area. VISION

A prosperous community free of poverty and environmental vulnerabilities based on social justice, equity and self-reliance. MISSION

Organizing,motivating and capacity building of CBOs for a long term, extensive intensive, participatory and sustainable development through empowerment of marginalized sections of society i.e. OBJECTIVES

· Insurance of sustainability in development.

· Reduction of poverty through institutional arrangement and improved social service in the area.

· Empowerment of women and the poorest through capacity building in marketable skills and creating livelihood opportunities.

· Reduction of environmental degradation in Chitral Town by strengthening local institutions and stakeholders.

· Promotion of participatory concept of development in the area.

· Revival of traditional norms and values of self help and self-reliance. STRATEGY AND APPROACH

Formation of community based organization, reactivation of the existing C BOs (both male and female) capacity building and skill development. Strengthening linkages with Government and Non-government Organization. Resource mobilization from local, national and international sources. Promotion of accountability, transparency and democratic values.
