🌱 Plantation Drive at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandi Town, Bhakkar

As part of the ongoing environmental conservation efforts of Environment Protection Organization (EPO), a plantation activity was carried out at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandi Town, Bhakkar, in collaboration with Mother Nature Foundation (MNF).
A total of 25 trees including Jamun, Neem, Guava, Arjun and Bakain were planted in the church premises. The plants were generously donated by Garden Center Nursery.
🌳 A Commitment to Grow and Protect.
EPO has been carrying out plantation activities at this church every year. However, due to the harsh climate and limited water availability, only around 3–4 plants out of every 10 planted survive and grow. This highlights the urgent need for a sustainable watering system.

☀️ A Solar Water Pump is Needed

A solar-powered water pumping system is urgently needed at the church to ensure regular watering and improve the survival rate of the newly planted trees.
We appeal to individuals, organizations, philanthropists and environmentally conscious citizens to come forward and support the installation of a solar water pump at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A small investment today can help create a greener and healthier environment for years to come.
The plantation activity was attended by Syed Aamir Ishaq Hamdani, Executive Director EPO; Muhammad Tariq, Plantation Coordinator; Rana Ashfaq; Aslam Jaan, Director Programs EPO; Zubair Akram, President MNF; Caretaker Parvez Gul; Parvez Babu; Shiraz Gul; James; Waris Masih, and members of the local community.

ارب پتی شاھد خان اور ڈونالڈ ٹرمپ آمنے سامنے ؛
دنیا کی طاقتور ترین انسان ڈونالڈ ٹرمپ نے غصے میں گھورا تو شاھد خان اس کی آنکھوں میں آنکھیں ڈال کر کھڑا ہوگیا اس بات کی پروا کیے بغیر کہ وہ اسے برباد کر سکتا ہے۔
بات ہی ایسی تھی ۔
ڈونالڈ ٹرمپ نے اس کی نیشنل فٹ بال ٹیم کے سیاہ فام کھلاڑیوں کو گالی دی تھی ۔ گالی بھی ایسی کہ جس میں ماں کی توھین کا پہلو نکلتا ہے۔
اس وقت شاھد خان کی ٹیم کے سیاہ فام ممبران نے ایک میچ میں امریکی ترانے کے دوران گھٹنے ٹیک کر انوکھے انداز میں احتجاج نوٹ کرایا ۔

ایک سیاہ فام جارج فلائڈ کی پولیس حراست میں ہلاکت کے خلاف ۔
لیکن دوسری طرف امریکہ میں حب الوطنی ایک بہت طاقتور جذبہ ہے ۔

صدر ٹرمپ کے تو تن بدن میں آگ لگ گئی
ٹرمپ تو آیا ہی سفید فام ووٹوں کی بنیاد پر تھا
اس نے گالی دیکر کہا کہ ان کھلاڑیوں کو نکال دینا چاہیے شاھد خان ٹیم کا سو فیصد مالک تھا یہ ایک غصیلے صدر کا شاھد خان کو سیدھی دھمکی تھی کہ وہ سمجھ جائے کہ اس نے ایسا نہ کیا تو کیا نقصان اٹھانا پڑے گا۔
شاھد خان نے جواب میں کمال کردیا ۔
ایسا کام کیا جو امریکہ میں کھیلوں کی تاریخ میں لکھا جائے گا۔
اگلے روز شاھد خان سٹڈیم میں اپنے کھلاڑیوں کے ساتھ اترا ۔
اس نے ان کے بانہوں میں بانہوں کی انجیر بنائی اور تن کر کھڑا ہوگیا۔
لمبے تڑنگے سیاہ وسفید فام کھلاڑیوں کے بیچ پاکستانی شاھد خان کہنے کو تو ایک بونا سا لگ رہا تھا لیکن دنیا کو ایک بہت دلیر انسان لگا اور اس کا قد آسمان جتنا اونچا ہوگیا ۔

سٹڈیم تالیوں سے گونج اٹھا۔
کھیل لورز کے چہرے جوش سے تمتا نے لگے کھل اٹھے ۔ ٹیم کے مستقبل سے پریشان اس کے پرستاروں میں جیسے کسی نے روح پھونک دی ہو۔
صدر ٹرمپ کو بھی یقیناً مرچیں لگی ہوں گی لیکن پھر ہوا یہ کہ نیشنل فٹ بال لیگ کے تمام کھلاڑی متحد ہو گئے اور یہ زنجیر ہر میچ میں بننی شروع ہو گئی اور یہ پیغام تھا صدر ٹرمپ کو اب خاموش ہوجاؤ یا پھر امریکہ بھر کے فٹ بال لورز سے نفرت کا نشانہ بنو۔
فٹ بال امریکہ کا ایک ایسا کھیل ہے جو تقریبا ہر گھر میں شوق سے دیکھا جاتا ہے اور ایک چھوٹی بات پر امریکی اپنے کھیل کو نقصان پہنچتا دیکھ کر خاموش نہیں رہ سکتے تھے۔
ٹرمپ جیسا بھی ہے لیکن سیاستدان ہے اور اس کے لیے اہم ترین اپنے ووٹ ہی ہیں۔امریکہ ایک جمہوری ملک ہے اور شاھد خان نے نسل پرستی کے غبارے سے ہوا نکال دی تھی ۔

Dear dedicated members of the EPO family and fellow global citizens,

It is a profound honor to address you as we mark World Environment Day. Today, we don't just commemorate a date; we reaffirm a solemn promise to our home. 🌎 The challenge of climate change and biodiversity loss is the defining crisis of our time, demanding a unity of purpose. 🤝

The theme of this year's efforts, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future." must move from being a motto to a mandate for our daily actions. From my time as Advisor at the UNDP to now, leading the EPO, I have witnessed the immense power of collective grassroots mobilization. 🌱 We have the science, the tools, and the dedication—now, we must have the courage. 💪 The choices we make now will resonate for generations.

The path forward is clear: it involves protecting ecosystems, adopting sustainable technologies, and fostering a deep respect for natural systems. Our awareness walks, our tree plantings, and our advocacy are more than events; they are acts of love for the future. 🤲 Let us leave a legacy of a planet that is healthy, resilient, and thriving. 🦋 Every step counts. Every voice matters.
