The World Pharmacists Day ceremony was organized by the Islamia University Pharmacists Association at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, the Vice -Chancellor said that law, health and education have a fundamental role in the development of society. Education and training is the main aspect of teaching. Pharmacists have a key role in the health sector. The Islamia University Bahawalpur department has pharmacy teachers, students and alumni with excellent abilities. The department of Pharmacy is the crown of the Islamia University Bahawalpur all steps will be taken for the development of this sector. Along with the university, this sector will soon go through problems and set the path of development. This year, the theme of World Pharmacists Day is Health Thinking, Pharmacist Thinking. On the occasion, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Qaiser Jaben, Prof. Dr. Asadullah Madani, Director Quality Institutes Cells and Presidency Pharmacists Association and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif Director ORIC. Former Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar, former Dean Professor Dr. Rao Saeed Ahmed, Dr. Asad Abrar, Director of the drug testing lab, Chief Pharmacist Dr Maria, senior faculty members from pharmaceutical companies, Alumni and students attended. The participants said that this day highlights the importance of pharmacists in a sustainable and vibrant healthcare system. Especially in today’s era when all nations are facing health challenges globally and there is a shortage of manpower in this sector, the role of pharmacists becomes very important. Pharmacists are the backbone of drug safety. The Department of Pharmacy of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has enjoyed national and international fame for teaching and research in the field of Pharmacy at the Bachelor, MPhil and PhD levels for the past several decades. The presence of a large number of pharmacists and representatives of pharmaceutical companies is a manifestation of the fact that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur plays a key role in the field of Pharmacy across the country.
