Attock Astronomy invites you to observe the upcoming lunar eclipse with us. We will set up our telescopes towards the moon so you can witness this unique wonder of nature in real time.

💵 This is a free event.

🕤 The eclipse begins around 9:30 PM.

🔴 At 10:30 PM, the Moon will reach its peak and turn a deep blood red.

We advise you to join around 9:00 PM to experience how moon turns blood red with each passing minute.

Bring your kids, family, and friends for an observation of the moon and meet our amazing team of young enthusiasts.

[BIF 25 – Attock Astronomy]

We were at Beaconhouse Margalla Islamabad to talk to students about space sciences and offer them internships to become part of building a space ecosystem in Pakistan.

We got a great response students asked questions about how we started, what they could see in the sky, what careers exist in space, and how they could follow a path in this field.

Unlike other STEM subjects, space still doesn’t get the same attention or opportunities, which is why we introduced our short internship program to help them explore it further.

We also got along by our friends from .ist , who were actively speaking with students and promoting Pakistan’s first space-themed telefilm “Jahan Aur Bhi Hain” (watch it on YouTube if you haven’t already).

Pakistan's Biggest Space Contest Winner - 2024

Story time - I used to look at the NASA website and go through their public resources.

I discovered that they had a strong online outreach.

It was so on-point that you could stop anyone on the street,

No matter how young, and ask them about NASA.

They’d tell you all about the Moon landings like it was second nature.

When Pakistan sent out its first lunar orbiter,

The response was something else entirely.

It wasn’t just criticism, it was a full-on backlash.

And most of it came from our youth.

I couldn’t help but think to myself…
"Those people are better than us"

But I was wrong.

It was a narrative that made a difference.

It was a strong narrative that..

1 Led the whole US to fund moon landings
2 Rallied Germans to wage Great War

Such narratives are not built by people.

They're made by decision makers…

I always thought space needed better leaders.

Many stakeholders. Collective efforts.

I spent my early years trying to convince everyone.

But it was a wasted effort. None bet an eye.

So I started implementing it…

Here we are, redefining what outreach should look like.

My methods are now much more received by other organisations outside the country too.

We don't need to do more, we need to do better…

Here's to our 4x consecutive win in World Space Week.

This time securing #1 position in county. Alhamdulilah

We hope we will carry the vision nationwide soon.

Attock Astronomy has proudly secured the #1 position in the World Space Week National rankings—for the fourth year in a row.

Since 2021, this journey has been about more than just awards—it's about purpose.

Although space advocacy has been on the rise. Space awareness has been suffering lately.

Previously the efforts put up by organizations have been mlre directed towards private institutions which has created a huge awareness gap and curiosity among pupils of a larger demographic. The government schools weren't getting as much of the limelight either.

In World Space Week 24, our focus has been those underprivileged schools. Our approach was to go beyond sessions. We led awareness sessions with the government officials, and the District Education Board, welcoming them to join the agenda and conducting STEM training workshops for teachers and engaging students in numerous space activities.

We're able to collectively conduct 110+ sessions, engaging over 2500 students and 50 institutes. Attock Astronomy would continue to be at the forefront of creating a space ecosystem, and advocating for better outreaches and collaborating closely with the National Space Agency.

To the space community, amazing friends & my neighbors have been shining terrace lights on my observations.

Here’s to keeping the dream alive, one star at a time.

[SUPARCO HQ 🛰 MEETUP 24]

Meetup with the Chairman of the National Space Agency of Pakistan at SUPARCO HQ.

In recent years, SUPARCO has expanded its role significantly, including deploying the nanosatellite ICUBE-Q into lunar orbit, launching Pakistan's second communication satellite, Paksat-MM1, to enhance national satellite capabilities, inaugurating the Space Application & Research Center in Gilgit, and joining the International Lunar Research Initiative to collaborate on China’s Chang’e-8 mission, aiming to send Pakistan's first rover to the lunar south pole.

Even sending the first Pakistani astronaut to orbit is one of them.

It wouldn't be wrong to say, we're going all in Space. But there's more that needs to be done, and this informal meetup with amazing space peeps from different societies was one of them.

Our activity engaging 2500 students in 112 sessions across several Tehsils of Attock was also brought up in the talk. But my favorite memory of the night would be putting up the Geological Analog Facility in Pakistan.

Attock Astronomy conducted one of the biggest World Space Week's Outreach

During World Space Week 2024, we expanded our outreach to rural areas, focusing on government schools across District Attock. Our goal was to engage students who had little to no prior exposure to space science.

By collaborating with the District Government, we conducted a Teachers' Awareness Workshop to introduce educators to World Space Week, SUPARCO, and SEAD. This workshop equipped teachers with the necessary knowledge & experience to initiate Space Activities. Following this, our team visited to deliver a week-long series of space activities.

A total of 112 space events were held across District Attock, reaching:

- 25 government schools, both rural and urban
- Over 2,500 students and 80 teachers
- 10+ interactive space modules
