ATM | TULAY (Tungo sa Ugnayang Lumalalim at Yumayabong): Parent Leaders Bridging Home, School, and the World of Today's Teenagers

Bringing together both outgoing and incoming PTA officers in accompanying both parents and students in fostering healthier and happier homes, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School held the "TULAY (Tungo sa Ugnayang Lumalalim at Yumayabong): Parent Leaders Bridging Home, School, and the World of Today's Teenagers," an activity that marked a meaningful transition of leadership while strengthening the partnership between home and school.

The session featured Fr. Joel A. Liwanag, a Jesuit with a doctorate in Psychotherapy and Counselling, as resource speaker. Through his insights on understanding and accompanying today's teenagers, participants were encouraged to embrace parent leadership grounded in empathy, collaboration, and shared responsibility.

The activity also included a turn-over of responsibilities ceremony and an orientation on the GPTA Constitution and ByLaws roles and duties as PTA officers.

As we close another meaningful school year, we look back with grateful hearts on a journey marked by service, collaboration, and a shared commitment to our students.

Every project accomplished, every activity celebrated, and every challenge overcome was made possible because parents, teachers, school administrators, and staff chose to work together for the good of our Junior High School community. Thank you for your time, generosity, trust, and unwavering support throughout School Year 2025–2026.

During the AdZU JHS Family Day 2026, we looked back on the meaningful moments that shaped our PTA journey from September 2025 to February 2026— moments of learning, service, generosity, and togetherness.

From the unified PTA project in collaboration with the Basic Education Unit Parenting Session held on September 27, 2025, to the Junior High School Medical Mission last December 14, 2025, from our heartfelt meeting with the PTA Scholar last February 7, 2026, to the unveiling and blessing of our PTA Legacy Project held on February 14, 2026, and of course, the joy-filled Cusina de Familia: The AdZU JHS Family Day Cookfest held last February 14, 2026, each activity was carefully planned and lovingly carried out to nurture our families, support our students’ well-being, and strengthen a safe, faith-filled community where every child can grow and thrive.

PTA Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Atenean Scholar

The Junior High School Parent-Teacher Association SY 2025-2026 (PTA) of Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School met with PTA scholar Al-Saif Julkarnain and his father on February 7, 2026, in a meaningful conversation that reaffirmed the association's commitment to student support and formation.

During the meeting, PTA officers were pleased to learn that Julkarnain continues to perform strongly in his studies and remains a consistent honor student. In recognition of his hard work and academic excellence, the scholar received a token of appreciation from the PTA, acknowledging his dedication and perseverance in school.

The PTA scholarship initiative is designed to assist Ateneans who demonstrate the drive to pursue their education despite financial challenges. Through sustained support, the association aims to nurture dreams, strengthen collaboration with families, and contribute to the holistic formation of students who strive for excellence and service to others.

The meeting underscored the PTA’s ongoing mission to serve the junior high school community by investing in students’ futures and accompanying them in their journey toward becoming men and women for and with others. 💙
