Her tireless dedication to the Youth Alliance Human Rights Ateneo has not only inspired us but also cultivated a community where voices can rise in unison.

"A true warrior for change is one who fights not only for themselves but for every voice that remains unheard." Ma'am Charissa encapsulates this spirit, embodying courage and compassion as she leads us in our mission to protect the vulnerable and to challenge inequality.

This October 17th, we celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, with this year's theme of "Ending social and institutional maltreatment by ensuring respect and effective support for families". We call for systems to protect and empower their people, not punish and exploit.

Poverty is not the absence of wealth, but the presence of inequality, exclusion, and neglect. Today, we stand together to end the cycle and stand for justice, compassion, and the inherent worth of every human being.

Sign languages are more than just a means of communication, they carry culture, identity, and dignity. They allow millions of people to express themselves fully, access education, participate in society, and exercise their rights.

In protecting sign language rights, we are protecting human rights. Together we stand for inclusivity, accessibility, and respect, because a just society is one where every voice, spoken or signed, is valued and heard.
