The Agricultural Field Office V โ Curuan District successfully organized the 4-H Club of Cansilayan, marking another milestone in empowering rural youth through agriculture, leadership, and community service. The activity brought together young individuals eager to become part of the Department of Agriculture's youth development program and actively contribute to the advancement of their community.
The program formally opened with welcome remarks from Mr. Richard E. Manlincon, Agricultural Field Officer, who emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in agriculture and encouraged the participants to become responsible and innovative future leaders. This was followed by an inspiring Message of Support from Ms. Glenda Dela Rosa, IBD Chief, who highlighted the vital role of 4-H members in promoting sustainable agriculture and community development.
An informative 4-H Orientation was conducted by Mr. Beejay Bernadas, 4-H City Coordinator, introducing the participants to the history, mission, values, and programs of the 4-H Club. The orientation encouraged the youth to actively participate in initiatives that foster leadership, entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and agricultural innovation.
The event also featured the Election of Officers, facilitated by Mr. Beejay Bernadas together with Ms. Chezka Gregorio, 4-H Coordinator of Curuan District, resulting in the successful formation of the first set of officers who will lead the newly organized 4-H Club of Cansilayan.
As part of the activity, the 4-H AgriLeaders Academy was officially launched through its inaugural training session, led by Mr. Jude Limen, HVCDP/NUPAP/Tractor Coordinator. The launching featured a lecture on Asexual Propagation, equipping the newly organized members with practical knowledge and hands-on techniques in plant propagation. This initiative marks the beginning of the 4-H AgriLeaders Academy, a learning platform designed to provide continuous agricultural education, leadership development, and technical capacity-building for 4-H members across Curuan District.
The successful organization of the 4-H Club in Cansilayan reflects the continued commitment of the Agricultural Field Office V โ Curuan District to nurture empowered, skilled, and service-oriented young agricultural leaders. With the establishment of the new club and the launching of the 4-H AgriLeaders Academy, the participants are now better equipped to become advocates of sustainable agriculture, innovation, and community development, embodying the 4-H ideals of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.
