Provolve Skills Bridge Inc. strongly and unequivocally condemns the reported shooting at Ateneo de Zamboanga University this morning, a tragic incident in which a high school student is both the suspect and the victim.

We express our deepest concern and sympathy to the students, faculty, staff, families, and the entire AdZU community. Schools must remain safe sanctuaries where young people can learn, grow, and pursue their dreams without fear. This heinous act must never be tolerated or normalized.

We urge authorities to conduct a swift, thorough, and transparent investigation, ensure accountability, and implement measures to prevent future tragedies.

Crucially, we emphasize that individual actions must not be conflated with religion. The faults of an individual must not drag Islam, Christianity, or any other faith into this serious crisis. We must refrain from weaponizing religion and act with responsibility.

Furthermore, we call on educational institutions to reinforce security, establish early-intervention systems, and provide robust psychosocial and mental health support. Protecting our youth is a shared responsibility.

We appeal to parents, educators, and communities to foster environments where young people feel safe to voice their struggles. Standing in solidarity with the AdZU community, we call on everyone to reject violence, uphold the sanctity of life, and work toward peaceful learning environments.

OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Program 2027

The Indigenous Fellowship Programme was launched in 1997 by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the context of the first International Decade of the World's Indigenous People.

The aim of the programme is to give indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge about the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and indigenous issues in particular.

Trained participants are better equipped to assist their organisations and communities in protecting and promoting their rights. This training programme is available in 4 languages: English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

What does the programme cover?

The selected candidates are entitled to a return flight ticket, living expenses and basic health insurance for the duration of the training.

Application procedure:

We strongly encourage you to submit you online application well before the deadline of 6 September 2026. Fellowship applications will only be taken into consideration if they are fully completed. Both parts I and II of the application form must be completed

Application forms must include an official recommendation letter from the nominating Indigenous organization or community. Applicants should upload their recommendation letters directly to the online application form.

The operation in Barangay Sinunuc on April 23, 2026, marks a horrific chapter in our nation’s law enforcement history. What was meant to be an ex*****on of a warrant against Saddam Siddick tragically turned into a state-sanctioned massacre of an innocent family.

As a civil society organization committed to the welfare of the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), we condemn this atrocity in the strongest possible terms.

We stand in solidarity with the grieving family and demand that justice be served without delay. Silence equates to complicity.
