Ateneo de Zamboanga University through Center for Community Extension Services and in its capacity as a member of the Zamboanga City Nutrition Committee, actively participated in the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) activity held on August 3–4, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Grand Astoria Hotel.

The activity brought together stakeholders to evaluate nutrition programs, exchange insights, and strengthen collaborative strategies aimed at promoting community health and wellness.

This participation underscores ADZU’s enduring commitment to public service, multi-sectoral partnership, and meaningful community engagement toward building healthier and more resilient communities.

Stepping away from the fields and the daily demands of farming, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University – Center for Community Extension Services (CCES) journeyed alongside the hardworking members of the Agricultores De La Paz Coconut Farmers Association (ADL-CFA). On August 12–13, 2026, we gathered at the Agricooltourist De La Paz Facility in La Paz, Zamboanga City, for a meaningful 2-day Capacity Development on Organizational Development and Formation. 🌾✨

This wasn't just another training session, it was an intentional pause. It was a dedicated moment for our farmers to set down their tools, turn toward one another, and truly listen. Through a series of heart-centered activities, the participants stepped out of their work routines to build stronger rapport, deepen mutual understanding, and weave a tighter bond of solidarity as one united association. 🤝💚

This transformative gathering is a key milestone under the COCOVIDA (Coconut and Carabao Ventures for Integrated Development and Agripreneurship) Project. We are proud to implement this initiative under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program, with the generous support and funding of the DOST Regional Office No. IX🥥🔬

Because genuine community development isn't just about providing resources or technology; it begins with people who choose to understand, support, and grow alongside each other. Here’s to stronger foundations and a brighter future for our local farmers! 🌴🙌

Embodying the mission of 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒎𝒐𝒓 𝒚 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒂, Ateneo de Zamboanga University through the Center for Community Extension Services, successfully facilitated the 𝗧𝘇𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗶 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 on August 10, 2026, in strategic partnership with our host institution, Tetuan Central School, under the able leadership of School Head Ms. Malou Rebollos.

The meaningful engagement commenced with an inspiring welcome message delivered by Mr. Rowel Carpio, setting a formal tone of cross-cultural collaboration and academic excellence. We were deeply honored to receive an esteemed delegation comprising 𝗗𝗿. 𝗧𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴-𝗬𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴, 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝘇𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗶 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆; 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗵 𝗞𝘂𝗻-𝗥𝘂𝗲𝘆; 𝗠𝗿. The active participation of our dedicated Barangay Chairperson Hon. Richard Mariano, staff, teachers, learners, and parents further enriched this community-driven initiative.

The program centered on a highly informative educational session dedicated to ocular health and general wellness, imparting essential medical knowledge to our attendees. Following this academic exchange, the guests proceeded to the Ateneo de Zamboanga University campus for a 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿. 𝗘𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹, 𝗦𝗝. The fruitful interaction culminated in a comprehensive tour of the AdZU grounds, further solidifying the institutional bonds between our organizations.

This successful event underscores our shared commitment to advancing medical education, fostering global partnerships, and promoting community wellness.

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University – Center for Community Extension Services (CCES) successfully conducted a One-Day Capacity Building on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) for the members of the Agricultores De La Paz Coconut Farmers Association (ADL-CFA) on August 4, 2026, at the Agricooltourist De La Paz Facility in La Paz, Zamboanga City.

Led by Resource Speaker 𝗠𝘀. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗣. 𝗟𝗶𝗺, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘, the day began with an informative morning orientation on OSH principles. In the afternoon, participants stepped into their respective work areas to identify potential hazards, develop practical prevention strategies, and craft solutions grounded in real-world conditions.

The session culminated in a powerful moment each beneficiary signed a Hazard Commitment, a symbol of their personal pledge to uphold safety and protect one another in the fields they cultivate.

This capacity-building activity is part of the COCOVIDA (Coconut and Carabao Ventures for Integrated Development and Agripreneurship) Project under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program, funded by the DOST Regional Office No. IX.

More than a training, this is a promise—a shared vow that no farmer should face the hazards of the field unprepared. With knowledge in hand and commitment in heart, the Agricultores De La Paz step forward not just as cultivators of the land, but as champions of their own safety and well-being. 🤝🌱
