James J. Wilson Chapter No. 21, Order of DeMolay International Order of DeMolay is an International Fraternal Organization for young men ages 12-21. HISTORY of JAMES J. WILSON CHAPTER

In the second quarter of 1976, Masons of Mt. Apo Lodge No. 45 which was Constituted on April 7, 1919 convened and agreed to sponsor a DeMolay Chapter in Zamboanga City and prepared a formal request which was sent to the International Order of DeMolay Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. thru Dad Manuel C. Inigo, Deputy and Executive Officer, Order of DeMolay, Jurisdiction of Mindanao. Dad Nileo R. Agustin was the prime mover for the establishment of DeMolay Chapter in Zamboanga City and was fully supported by fellow Dad Masons namely; Dad Jose M. Valderrosa, Dad W***y Uy, Dad Jose M. Lopez, Dad Antonio A. Espinosa, Dad Jose R. Luna, Dad William Kosloff, Dad Pedro Chua, Dad Francisco Lim, Dad Romulo Plagata, Dad Pablo Sebastian, Dad Abelardo Murga and Dad Alvin Sebastian. These Dad/Masons later served in the Chapter as Members of the Advisory Council together with DeMolays from other Chapters namely; Bro. Leo Solamillo, Bro. Wilter Palma, Bro. Honorio Alonzo, Bro. Suresh Parmanand and Bro. On October 30,1976 the first DeMolay Chapter in Southern Mindanao was instituted and its Chartered Officers were installed after receiving both the Initiatory and DeMolay Degrees. It was named after Nicasio Valderrosa who was the Master of Mt. Apo Lodge No. 45 in 1929 and became the Mayor when Zamboanga was Chartered into a City. He was also a former Mayor of Baguio City and served also as the first Mayor of Basilan City. The first Chairman of the Advisory Council was Dad Jose M. Valderrosa and the Chartered Master Councilor is his son, Bro. Oscar E. Valderrosa. There were 28 young boys then, who comprised the Pioneer Batch of Nicasio Valderrosa Chapter. to be continued ....

After the stated meeting of James J. Wilson Chapter, Order of DeMolay, the business was doneโ€”but the brotherhood and good times were just getting started! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The meeting focused on the progress of the ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  process and the planning of fun, meaningful, and engaging activities for the Chapter in the future.

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of ๐“ž๐“ผ๐“ฌ๐“ช๐“ป โ€œ๐“ž๐“ผ๐“ด๐“ฒ๐“ฎโ€ ๐“”๐“ผ๐“บ๐“พ๐“ฒ๐“ฟ๐“ฎ๐“ต ๐“ฅ๐“ช๐“ต๐“ญ๐“ฎ๐“ป๐“ป๐“ธ๐“ผ๐“ช, a cherished Brother from the pioneering batch of James J. Wilson Chapter No. 21, Order of DeMolay.

Oskieโ€™s journey through life was marked by friendship, loyalty, faith, and the bonds of brotherhood. The friendships formed in DeMolay were more than memoriesโ€”they became a lasting part of who he was and of the lives he touched.

As we remember him, we take comfort in the words of the DeMolay Memorial Service:

โ€œThe soul of our departed brother is with Thee. We commit him to Thy loving kindness and beseech Thee to send the peace of Thine infinite love to those closest to our brother.โ€

May his family and loved ones find comfort in the remembrance of his virtues, and may those who knew him in the comradeship of DeMolay gain new inspiration from his life.

Spearheaded by our Junior Councilor, ๐‘จ๐’๐’ˆ๐’†๐’๐’ ๐‘ฑ๐’๐’”๐’‰ ๐‘ช. ๐‘ฉ๐’Š๐’๐’–๐’๐’–๐’‚๐’, the orientation served as a meaningful first step for our prospective brothers as they were introduced to the principles, traditions, responsibilities, and brotherhood that define the Order of DeMolay. โœจ

We were also honored to receive the words of wisdom and guidance of our Chapter Advisor, ๐‘ซ๐’‚๐’… ๐‘จ๐’๐’”๐’†๐’ ๐‘ป. ๐‘ผ๐’š, whose insights helped inspire and guide our prospects as they begin this meaningful journey.

With around 18 prospects in attendance, together with their supportive parents, the orientation was a resounding success. Their presence and enthusiasm made the gathering even more meaningful as we welcomed a new batch of young men who may soon become part of our ever-growing DeMolay family. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
