Project Banig -Zamboanga Project Banig Zamboanga is an interactive storytelling campaign that promotes the appreciation of Ph The child is the heart and soul of Project Banig Zamboanga.

We are a group of storyteller-adventurers who go to different sites/sights, lay down a 'banig' (a woven mat), gather children, bring out a book, and tell a story. Performances take place in site-specific places making nature its stage. The stories combine prominent indigenous cultural figures/characters to anchor the consciousness of the children to appreciate problems of everyday life. Its intera

ctive nature incites enthusiasm and prompts positive response from the children, making value-formation an extremely meaningful and enjoyable experience- something essential in these times when passivity plagues many societies. Whatever we do, we put the child at the center of all our efforts. Through the child, we acknowledge our co-existence with the child’s environment and how this environment shapes the child’s view of himself and the world around him.
