Rotaract Club of Southern City Colleges

It was on September 16, 2011 when the Rotaract Club of Southern City Colleges was formed. As one of the active school-based organizations,

It was during that year when the SCCians get to know and appreciate the work and services of Rotary International. As one of the active school-based organizations, Rotaract Club of Southern City Colleges, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City West, inspired to render services to its community through reaching out to those less fortunate, connect with the people who need our help and transform lives in order to see the change we want to achieve. We are living with the mantra of "Service above Self" and that make us people of action. We continue to lend a hand and to reach people in the community in our one little ways. Because we believe that a small act of kindness can make a big impact to other people's lives.

To our officers graduating tomorrow — your legacy in Rotaract Club of Southern City Colleges will continue in every member you mentored and every service we do. The club may look different without you, but the values you built will stay. We are so proud of you all.

A massive congratulations to one of our own!

We are beyond thrilled and deeply proud to celebrate Dr. Edwin Mateo Caliolio (AB Political Science ’85) for being inducted as a 2026 Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee (OSA) in the field of Business Leadership and Community Service!

While Dr. Caliolio’s incredible legacy spans decades of transformative leadership in healthcare, higher education governance, and community resilience across the region, we at the Silliman University Culture and Arts Council (SUCAC) hold a special place of gratitude for his unwavering support.

As a major patron and sponsor of the Culture and Arts Council, Dr. Caliolio’s generosity has directly sustained our seasonal performances and cultural events right here at the Luce Auditorium.

His commitment ensures that the flame of creativity, heritage, and artistic excellence continues to burn brightly on campus, enriching the lives of students and the wider community alike.

From his brave administrative support during the Zamboanga Siege to his impactful stewardship of critical infrastructure and hospital systems, Dr. Caliolio truly embodies the Silliman spirit of "Via, Veritas, Vita".

He is a visionary leader who doesn't just build enterprises—he builds communities, protects the vulnerable, and uplifts the arts. Thank you, Dr. Edwin, for being a steadfast champion of culture, community, and the Silliman influence. This highest institutional honor is richly deserved!

“A man who lived his life and did his best to make this world a better place.”
