The session began with an introduction of house rules, followed by a meaningful opening from Asso. Prof. Hazel Ututalum, RN, RM, MN, who also led the first discussion. She provided a clear and informative overview of PCOS, covering its definition, common symptoms, possible causes, and ways it can be managed through proper lifestyle and medical care. Through her talk, we were able to deepen our understanding of a condition that many women silently experience.
The second session, delivered by Prof. Magnolia Greflade, MAEd, focused on the emotional and psychological aspects of PCOS. She emphasized the impact on self-esteem and body image while encouraging self-acceptance and the importance of mental well-being. Her discussion reminded us that health is not only physical, but also emotional.
We then engaged participants through breakout rooms where they shared reflections, discussed real-life applications of the learnings, and connected with one another.
Overall, the webinar became a space for learning, sharing, and raising awarenessโstrengthening our commitment to advocate for womenโs health and well-being. โจ
