💜 Building Skills, Creating Opportunities!

On June 19–20, 2026, Katilingban sa Kalambuan Org., Inc. (KKI) conducted a Job Training Activity under the KKI-KKS ALERT Project, equipping participants with practical skills, work readiness, and positive work attitudes for employment and livelihood opportunities.

Special thanks to TESDA Trainer Annabelle R. Brasileño and TESDA Representative Neil Paolo E. Destua for sharing their expertise and inspiring participants toward greater self-reliance and economic empowerment.

🎥 PEACE BEGINS WITH PROTECTION: BUILDING SAFER COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

What does peace really mean?

Peace is more than the absence of conflict. Peace means living in a community where people are safe, their rights are respected, and no one is exploited or abused.

Trafficking in Persons thrives where vulnerability, poverty, lack of awareness, and weak protection systems leave people at risk.
In this advocacy video, KKI highlights the vital connection between peace, protection, and the prevention of Trafficking in Persons (TIP), reminding us that peace begins when people are safe, protected, and free from exploitation
That is why prevention is everyone’s responsibility.

Katilingban sa Kalambuan Org. Inc. participated in the Child Protection and Welfare Exchange Program on Children in Street Situations (CISS) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), together with our partner organizations in the Philippines, Bahay Tuluyan Center in Metro Manila and Tambayan Center in Davao City.

The cross-learning visit was held from August 29 to September 4, 2026, in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, and Khon Kaen, Thailand. The program aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange and learning from good practices in Thailand in the areas of child welfare, cross-sectoral collaboration in child protection, community-based support services, and social welfare initiatives.

It was truly a wonderful and meaningful experience to learn about Thailand’s good practices in child protection, particularly its approaches that strengthen family and community support, social services, rehabilitation and reintegration programs for children and young people, and educational and vocational development.

The exchange provided valuable insights and inspiration that we can bring back and apply in our continuing efforts to promote the rights, protection, well-being, and development of children and young people, especially those in vulnerable situations.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Terre des Hommes Germany and BMZ for their generous support, which made this valuable learning experience possible.

Together, we learn, share, and strengthen our commitment to building safer, more supportive, and child-friendly communities. 💙👧🧒

Taos-puso kaming nakikiramay sa mga pamilyang nawalan ng mahal sa buhay sa trahedyang naganap sa Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Kaisa rin kami sa pananalangin para sa paggaling ng mga nasaktan at sa paghilom ng buong komunidad. Nawa’y matagpuan ng mga naulila ang lakas at pag-asa sa gitna ng matinding dalamhati.

Habang nagpapatuloy ang opisyal na imbestigasyon, hinihikayat ang lahat na huwag magbahagi ng sensitibong mga larawan at video, hindi beripikadong impormasyon, o anumang haka-haka. Igalang natin ang privacy at dignidad ng mga biktima at kanilang pamilya, at sumangguni lamang sa mga opisyal at mapagkakatiwalaang pahayag.

Ang mga paaralan ay dapat maging ligtas na espasyo para sa lahat ng bata at kabataan. Nananawagan kami para sa mabilis, patas, at sensitibong imbestigasyon, sapat na psychosocial support sa mga apektado, at responsableng pagbabahagi ng impormasyon. Sa gitna ng dalamhati, pairalin natin ang malasakit, pananagutan, at pagkakaisa upang mapanatiling ligtas ang bawat bata. # # #
