The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Mercedes proudly recognizes our Five Outstanding Jovenes of Barangay Mercedesβyoung individuals who have exemplified the true meaning of "Service in Action." Through their passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to volunteerism and community service, they have inspired fellow youth and made a lasting impact in our barangay.
We celebrate not only their achievements but also the values they represent: leadership, compassion, and selfless service.
1οΈβ£WENCY CYRIL TORRES
Wency Cyril Torres is the son of Wilfrido F. Torres Jr. and Jean O. Torres, and a resident of Zone 2, Mercedes, Zamboanga City. At 22 years old, he is currently in his final year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program while serving as the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) President of Barangay Mercedes. Passionate about both healthcare and community service, Wency strives to lead with empathy, dedication, and collaboration. As a future healthcare professional, he is committed to promoting health education, empowering young people to make informed and healthy choices, and fostering a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community through servant leadership.
2οΈβ£CHRIS DEION RODRIGUEZ
Chris Deion Rodriguez is the son of Shirley R. Santo and Benedick S. Rodriguez, and a resident of Zone 2B, San Isidro Street, Mercedes. He is currently a first-year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship student at Zamboanga Peninsula State University. A motivated and responsible individual, Chris values honesty, respect, and continuous learning. He enjoys embracing new challenges, developing his skills, and building positive relationships with others. Committed to personal and professional growth, he strives to give his best in every endeavor and seize opportunities that contribute to his development and service to the community.
3οΈβ£MARIA LUZ ROSALADO
Maria Luz Rosalado is the daughter of Lucia A. Rosalado and Carlito L. Rosalado, and a resident of Zone IIA, San Isidro, Mercedes. She is passionate about serving the youth and the community, believing that every act of service creates meaningful change. Through her involvement in various organizations, forums, and especially scouting, she has developed the values of leadership, teamwork, and selfless service. For Maria Luz, true leadership is not defined by power or position, but by how one treats others and works alongside them with respect, compassion, and integrity.
4οΈβ£EDRIANE CARANZO
Edriane Caranzo is the child of Analisa A. Caranzo and Ernesto G. Caranzo Jr., and a resident of Zone 4, Socorro Street, Mercedes. At 17 years old, Edriane is a dedicated student leader from Mercedes National High School who has consistently demonstrated excellence in youth leadership and environmental advocacy. Edriane continues to inspire fellow students through servant leadership, active participation, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in both the school and the community.
5οΈβ£CEEJAY RAMIREZ
Ceejay Ramirez is the son of Josie Ramirez, a 22-year-old resident of Zone 3, Calle Socorro, Mercedes, Zamboanga City. He is currently a second-year Bachelor of Science in Development Communication student at Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. A passionate youth leader, Ceejay serves as the PYAP President of Barangay Mercedes, a Board Member of Field Office V, and a Youth Serving Persons (YSP) member. His journey in community service began as an SK Mercedes volunteer, where he has dedicated four years of continuous service. Through his unwavering commitment, he continues to empower fellow youth and promote meaningful community engagement.
