The Jovenes Monte Mar (OSY) program is a non- sectarian organization with a firm commitment to empower the youth of different cultures and beliefs journeying together towards an integrated society where freedom, respect, justice and peace prevail. This Program is rooted in the Charism of the Missionary Sisters of the Queen of the apostles (SRA), specifically in evangelization that will bring abo
ut positive changes such as healing and empowerment in the life situation of our youths today. It was formally established in Zamboanga City through the effort of our Sr. Delia Tan, SRA on October 25, 2003. She was the Archdiocesan youth Coordinator for six years - by this involvement she discovered about the urgent need of the youth especially those who are less privileged. Thus, she started the initiative to organize some members of youth who could help in the survey and formation. It was also through the support of our general team and our delegation who contributed that this program was realized into progress. JOVENES MONTE MAR means; Jovenes (a chavacano word refers to the Youth) Monte refers to the word Mountain and Mar is sea -this name is clearly given as to reach-out to the youths located in the mountain and in coastal areas. Hoping to provide them means for self development and growth through Values Formation seminar, Spiritual nourishment, formal & non- formal education or literacy program and skills training.
