Eagles' Math Core Circle, or otherwise known as E'MC2, is a students' organization under the College of Science and Information Technology of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. It is an organization open to students of AdZU who are enthusiastic, curious, or troubled about Mathematics, regardless of course, year level, and department they are under. Eagles' Math Core Circle is lead by students under the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (BSMath), Bachelor of Science in Statistics (BSStat), and Bachelor of Science in Education, major in Mathematics (BSEd-Math). EMC2 (pronounced as EMCSQUARED) got its name from the brainstorming of some College Faculty members of the Mathematics Department of ADZU after the very successful conduct of the First Sudoku Puzzle Challenge held at ADZU on September 2006. When the (then) Students' Math Circle was re-organized, it adapted the name Eagles' Mathematics Core Circle or EMC2, that got its name inspired by Einstein's very own Theory of Relativity.

Yesterday, our BS Mathematics freshmen took that first step through The First Proof, officially marking the beginning of their journey in the program.

The orientation served as an opportunity for our freshmen to meet their fellow students, get to know the faculty members throughout their stay in the department. More importantly, it laid the foundation for the years of learning, collaboration, and growth that lie ahead.
