The Zamboanga City Justice Zone wrapped up the Bantay Kaligtasan: Anti-Trafficking Referral Pathway Training last 04 March 2026, with committed frontliners ready to make a difference.

Thank you to all multi-disciplinary frontliners who joined the workshop. Participated by representatives coming from selected Public & Private Schools, Barangay Local Government Units, Police Officers, and Social Workers from the CSWDO, this activity strengthened our multi-disciplinary frontliners, ensuring a faster, more coordinated response for survivors and a united front against human trafficking. 🤝✨

The ZCJZ extends our heartfelt gratitude to all Resource Speakers and Partner Agencies who had supported this activity.

After three days of collective action and multi-sector support, the 2nd National Summit on Decongestion of the Justice Sector Coordinating Council has concluded—bringing the country closer to decongested jails and prisons, while affirming the shared commitment to improve the living conditions and the humane treatment of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
With the proposed reforms emerging from this productive Summit, hopes for providing more dignified conditions in jails and prisons have been strengthened—reinforcing the essence of rehabilitation to every PDL, from their incarceration to their reintegration to the community.

Zamboanga City Justice Zone participates in the three-day 2nd National Decongestion Summit

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘: The three-day 2nd National Decongestion Summit runs from January 21 – 23, 2026. Among others, the Summit will tackle topics that seek to advance reforms for systemic change.

In a community that aims to eradicate crime, it is important that we know the role of branches of government acting so that the person who committed the crime can be caught, investigated, prosecuted, arraigned, and punished.
In this , learn that providing justice is not just a job of the court. This is the function of the five pillars of the Criminal Justice System comprised of Law Enforcement, Prosecution, Judiciary, Corrections, and Community.
The unification and effective coordination of these pillars strengthens the Criminal Justice System so that those who commit crimes are prevented, and those who commit crimes will be punished and give back to the community. Every pillar plays a role for justice, for peace, and for a safer and just society.

Under the leadership of Lead Convenor Hon. Gregorio V. Dela Peña III, the Zamboanga City Justice Zone, in collaboration with IBP Zambasulta Chapter, the Branch 32 Regional Trial Court Zamboanga City and the Public Attorney's Office - Zamboanga City District, conducted a meaningful jail visitation at the Zamboanga City Jail.

This important activity aims to engage with inmates, providing them with support and legal assistance. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to address the pressing issue of jail congestion and promote a more efficient and just correctional system in the city.

This is just the beginning of more programs and activities by the ZCJZ to enhance the delivery of justice services in Zamboanga City.

ENHORABUENA HONORABLE MA. THERESA DOLORES C. GOMEZ-ESTOESTA!

The Zamboanga City Justice Zone congratulates the Honorable Ma. Theresa Dolores C. Gomez-Estoesta on her appointment as Court Administrator.

Hon. Gomez-Estoesta has been serving the government for 34 years. She was Chairperson of the anti-graft court’s Seventh Division prior to her appointment as Court Administrator.

NEW APPOINTMENT: Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Ma. Theresa Dolores C. Gomez-Estoesta is the new Court Administrator. She took her oath before Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo earlier today, September 1, 2025.

Hon. Gomez-Estoesta has been serving the government for 34 years. She was Chairperson of the anti-graft court’s Seventh Division prior to her appointment as Court Administrator.

The Zamboanga City Justice Zone received a Token of Recognition from the European Union in the Philippines- Governance in Justice - GoJust Program II, during the 2nd National Justice Zone Summit held last June 2025 at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila. The accolade acknowledges efforts and steadfast dedication to fighting human trafficking and enhancing the delivery of justice services for everyone.

A significant milestone was achieved for the Zamboanga City Justice Zone as we gathered for a Planning Workshop on 13 August 2025.
Headed by Lead Convenor Hon. Gregorio V. Dela Peña III, this collaborative event united member agencies of the justice sector, civic organizations, and stakeholders to deliberate and strategize on improving access to justice for everyone. Representatives from the Supreme Court - Program Management Office assisted during the activity.
Through engaging discussions and innovative brainstorming sessions, we seek to address Anti-Trafficking in Persons while navigating interconnected issues within our justice system. The ZCJZ aims to foster a more equitable and inclusive environment where everyone in Zamboanga City feels empowered and safeguarded.

Together, we are shaping a brighter future for justice in our community.
