Climate anxiety is an emotional signal that should not be ignored. Rather, it should be used to fuel change and hope for a better future. πŸ’βš‘πŸ’‘

The 3ZERO House - in partnership with Global Shapers Community - Manila Hub () and Global Shapers Paris () - recently hosted the 6th Global Meetup on the topic, "Under the Weather: A Global Conversation Addressing Climate Anxiety". Participants from Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe joined the 3ZERO House online to discuss the psychological and emotional challenges of people working for climate mitigation and adaptation, and what can be done about them. πŸ§ πŸ€“β˜οΈ

Speakers from the fields of clinical psychology, corporate responsibility and community development first tackled definitions and manifestations of climate anxiety in local contexts. Afterwards, the discussion moved towards locating the systemic gaps and opportunities in addressing climate anxiety, as well as next steps for building emotionally healthy spaces for people working in climate advocacies. Finally, the event marked the launch of the Climate Care Toolkit, co-designed by the 3ZERO House and Global Shapers communities. The toolkit seeks to empower individuals to turn climate-related emotions into positive and practical action, helping sustain momentum for climate engagement beyond the event itself. πŸ’—πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ’ͺ

On June 2, 2026, Kids Who Farm teamed up with Silad Mahogany Elementary School in Butuan City to conduct a hands-on workshop for students as well as parents in the DSWD XIII’s Tara, Basa! Culmination Program. The session focused on microfarming and featured a step-by-step guide on creating "tarpots"β€”an innovative, eco-friendly solution designed by Kids Who Farm to upcycle old tarpaulins into durable planters for vegetables and herbs.

The initiative successfully promoted local food security while keeping waste out of landfills, and was made possible through the support of the Rotaract Club of Butuan Highlands and ATI Caraga Region XIII who provided the IEC advocacy learning materials.

Our sincere appreciation and thanks to our volunteers and partners.

β˜‘ Kids Who Farm Butuan City Team: Juniel Rey, Renato Paril II, Nikko A. Buron, and John C. Cuesta.

β˜‘β€‹Silad-Mahogany Elementary School: The dedicated faculty, parents, teachers, and students.

β˜‘β€‹The Tara, Basa! Tutors: With a special shoutout to our event point person, Ms. Mary Mae Garillos.
