This profiling is open to everyone, regardless of your current status:

The information you provide will help the CSWDO develop an updated database of the youth sector. This will serve as the basis for planning, implementing, and delivering programs, services, and assistance that are responsive to the needs of our young people.

𝐏𝐘𝐀𝐏 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐕 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐒' 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Presidents from Field Office V successfully conducted a coordination meeting today to discuss upcoming youth programs and initiatives that will strengthen youth participation and leadership in our communities.

The meeting covered the following key agenda:
• Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 preparations and activities
• State of the Youth Address (SOYA) updates and coordination
• City-Wide Youth Camp planning and implementation
• Youth Profiling and data gathering initiatives

These discussions aim to ensure the successful implementation of programs that empower the youth, promote active citizenship, and encourage meaningful community engagement.

Together, we remain committed to building a generation of responsible, empowered, and service-oriented young leaders.

𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐔𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

ZAMBOANGA CITY – CENRO Zamboanga City through its Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Unit (PAMBCU) successfully conducted a Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) activity on Cave Conservation and Protection for Apolinario Cave at the Barangay Hall of Lapakan, Zamboanga City.

The activity gathered 29 barangay constituents representing various sectors, including the Barangay Officials, Women's Association, Farmers Association, Senior Citizens, Youth Association and Religious Sector. The CEPA aimed to increase public awareness and strengthen community involvement in the conservation and protection of caves and their valuable resources.

Participants attended the informative lectures on key environmental laws related to cave and wildlife protection, including Republic Act No. 9072 or the National Caves and Cave Resources Management and Protection Act, Republic Act No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, Presidential Decree No. 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines and Republic Act No. 9175 or the Chainsaw Act of 2002.

To encourage active participation and reinforce learning, trivia question-and-answer games were incorporated into the program. Winners received prizes in recognition of their participation and knowledge of the topics discussed.

The activity underscored the importance of intergovernmental collaboration and active community participation in the shared responsibility of conserving and protecting Apolinario Cave and other cave resources.

🌿 Strengthening Awareness, Protecting Our Natural Heritage 🌿

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – CENRO Zamboanga City, in partnership with Barangay Lapakan, successfully conducted the Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) on the Protection and Conservation of Caves and Cave Resources at Apolinario Cave, Barangay Lapakan, Zamboanga City, held on July 7, 2026.

The activity aimed to increase public awareness on the importance of protecting and conserving our caves and their unique ecosystems while promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable resource management.

The activity brought together representatives from various community sectors, including:

Women's Sector
Farmers' Sector
Religious Sector
Senior Citizens Sector
Youth Sector
Barangay Council of Lapakan

The active participation of these sectors reflects the community's shared commitment to protecting and conserving our natural resources. Through collaboration, education, and collective action, we can safeguard our caves and preserve their ecological and cultural significance for future generations.

We extend our sincere appreciation to DENR Zamboanga City , all partner agencies, facilitators, and participants for making this environmental awareness activity a success.
