They will ask you: "BS Physics? anong gagawin mo dun?" They will ask it with the exact face your tita makes when you put too much rice on your plate. As if choosing Physics is a cry for help. As if you have made a terrible mistake and there is still time to switch.

Here is what you tell them. You tell them you are learning why the universe exists, how matter behaves, what holds everything together. You tell them Newton, Einstein, Feynman โ€” lahat sila, Physics. Then you watch them nod slowly the way people nod when they do not understand but do not want to admit it. This is your first experiment in applied Physics: the observation of a tita in her natural habitat, confronted with information she cannot process.

BS Physics at WMSU. We will not promise it is easy. We will not promise your family will stop asking questions. We will promise that you will eventually know more about how the universe works, and you will have to sit with that knowledge and smile. Ano, tara??
