This historical society established by this Constitution must be known as the La Liga Historia Zamboangueña. It is a cultural and historical society focused on interdisciplinary research and development of the humanities and social sciences in Zamboanga City. It is also an independent organization of the members of the academe, students, researchers, and think tanks of the different sectors o
f the Philippine society. Purpose
This historical society is non-profit for development for educational institutions and policymakers in the Zamboanga Peninsula through the promotion of Philippine history, philosophy, other humanities, and social sciences, and socio-cultural-political heritage with a view to expanding its activities to new areas, including research and outreach work, regional and thematic programs. The society’s nature is non-profit and works as operational and in a form of advocacy. Providing analyses and forecasts regional risks, and opportunities for the benefit of the Philippine democracy, businesses, educational centers, public organizations, and their foreign peers. The society’s core area of operations is within Zamboanga City and recognizes Zamboanga Peninsula and the island groups of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi as one of its areas of interests in terms of its racial, cultural, political, and economic history. ARTICLE II – VISION AND MISSION

The La Liga Historia Zamboangueña envisions itself to be a leading non-profit society of professors, think tanks, and intellectual luminaries in Mindanao with strong collaboration with relevant institutions and other local and international organizations that share the same values and principles towards the spirit of nationhood and nation-building. Mission
The La Liga Historia Zamboangueña aims for the promotion of histories of the Philippines—especially the local history of Zamboanga, philosophy, other humanities, social sciences, and social-cultural-political studies and heritage through research, dissemination, conservation, and heraldry works.
