President Alian Kuly and Secretary Abdurahman Jhulsadjuri proudly represented the Muslim Youth Development Alliance – Zamboanga City Federation (MYDA-ZC) during the 3rd Regular Meeting of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) held on August 3, 2026 5:00PM at the City Hall Conference Room, presided over by CJ Dalipe, LYDC Chairman, City Councilor, and SK National President.

The meeting brought together various youth organizations to discuss key initiatives and programs of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the LYDC. Among the agenda discussed were the LYDO-LYDC accomplishments from April to July, the opening of the new LYDO Office on August 16, 2026, updates on the Linggo ng Kabataan and International Youth Day Celebration, project proposal updates from youth organizations, and other matters concerning youth development in Zamboanga City.

During the meeting, City Mayor Khymer Olaso also called on youth leaders and organizations to continue working closely with the city government by helping identify, raise, and address the concerns of the youth in their respective communities. He emphasized the important role of youth leaders in ensuring that the voices, needs, and aspirations of young people are heard and considered in the city’s development initiatives.

MYDA-ZC actively participated in the discussions and reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Local Government Unit and fellow youth organizations in advancing programs that promote leadership, volunteerism, civic engagement, and inclusive youth development. Together, we remain committed to serving the youth of Zamboanga City and contributing to a more empowered and united generation.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Muslim Youth Development Alliance (MYDA) – Zamboanga City Federation strongly condemns the recent violent incidents involving students in the country, including the tragic shooting incident in Tacloban City that claimed the lives of three students and injured five others, as well as the knife attack in General Trias, Cavite that left seven students injured.

These heartbreaking incidents are a painful reminder of the growing threats to the safety and well-being of our youth. No student should have to fear for their life while pursuing education, and no family should endure the grief and trauma caused by senseless acts of violence.

As an organization committed to youth development, peacebuilding, and community empowerment, we firmly denounce all forms of violence. We call on all sectors of society—parents, educators, community leaders, and government agencies—to work together in promoting a culture of peace, strengthening youth protection mechanisms, and addressing the root causes of violence among young people.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives and our prayers for the swift recovery of those who were injured. May justice prevail, healing be granted to the victims, and may these tragic events inspire collective action to ensure safer schools and communities for all.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

With profound sorrow and a heavy heart, the Muslim Youth Development Alliance – Zamboanga City expresses its deepest grief while strongly condemning the tragic law enforcement operation that occurred on April 23, 2026, at Sitio Alas-as, which claimed the lives of three (3) individuals, including a 12-year-old child.

We are deeply saddened and outraged by this heartbreaking incident. The loss of innocent lives—most especially that of a child—is unacceptable and demands urgent attention. No family should have to endure such pain, and no child should ever be placed in harm’s way during operations meant to ensure public safety.

We strongly condemn any form of negligence, excessive force, or failure to uphold the highest standards of law enforcement that may have led to this tragedy. While authorities have the duty to maintain peace and order, this responsibility must always be carried out with utmost respect for human life, dignity, and the protection of civilians—especially minors.
We call for:

An immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation
Full accountability for all those responsible
A comprehensive review of operational protocols to ensure civilian protection
Swift justice and adequate support for the victims’ families

We stand in solidarity with the grieving families and the entire community during this time of immense sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they seek healing and justice.

Our Secretary, Abdurahman JhuLSADJIRI, proudly represented the Muslim Youth Development Alliance Zamboanga City Federation during the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) held at the City Hall Conference Room, Presided by LYDC Chairman, City Councilor and SK National President Hon. CJ Dalipe.

The meeting brought together various youth organizations, actively engaging in discussions that led to the unanimous approval of the Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) presented by Local Youth Development Officer Mr. Christian E. Olasiman.

This three-year strategic plan will now be endorsed to the Local Chief Executive through the Youth Development Alliance.
This milestone highlights a shared commitment to empowering the youth, strengthening participation, and promoting inclusive and sustainable development in Zamboanga City—an advocacy we proudly continue to support.
