𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙚 𝙆𝙖, 𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙜 | 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 💃🏻👑💐

For far too long, women have been seen as weak and fragile, overly emotional, and less capable. Yet time and again, women have proven otherwise, rising above these assumptions.

Today, we celebrate all the women who continue to show up, speak out, hold their ground, and fight for the causes they believe in. We celebrate the resilience and courage to rise, lead, and create changes in every place and situation they find themselves in, even when the support is scarce. This is the spirit behind this year’s theme “𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣”, highlighting that when women are given equal opportunities and genuine support, the whole community grows stronger because of it.

Here in the 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 👩🏻‍🏫, we proudly recognize all the women in Science and Math who have helped the college and the wider university grow and move forward through their research, talents, and remarkable minds.

The phrase “𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙚 𝙆𝙖, 𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙜”, is a powerful reminder that every woman deserves to hear. That being a 𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘦 is not a limitation; it’s never something small. It is a reminder of the strength you carry and the courage to be bold.

This Women’s Day, let us thank all the women in our lives for the many ways they make the world stronger, kinder, and full of possibility.

International Le***an Day is a reminder that love, in all its forms, deserves to be seen, respected, and celebrated. It’s about honoring the strength, courage, and tenderness of le****ns who continue to break barriers and live authentically despite the odds.

May we keep creating spaces where everyone feels safe to love freely, speak proudly, and simply be. Because visibility and acceptance aren’t just for a day, they’re for a lifetime. 🏳️‍🌈✨

It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration as the WMSU Gender Association Inc. led this year’s SOGIESC Summit 2025 — a space where voices were heard, stories were shared, and equality was celebrated.🌸

The College of Science and Mathematics Gender Club is beyond grateful to be part of this meaningful journey toward a more inclusive and compassionate community. Together, we continue to stand for love, respect, and equity, because everyone deserves to be seen and valued.🌈✨

𝗧𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 🌈

𝙈𝙖’𝙖𝙢, 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨, 𝙎𝙞𝙧, 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛, 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 — these are just some of the many names we call our classroom heroes. These people make school more than just a place to learn but a home where one’s talents, skills, and individuality are nurtured and celebrated. Serving as our second parents, our dearest teachers strive not only to impart knowledge but, above all, to instill values and morals that make us better people for ourselves, the community, and the world.

Through their tireless dedication and unwavering service, every day is, in truth, Teachers’ Day, but today, we celebrate them a little louder. They deserve all the love and respect for choosing this noblest path of walking with students in a shared journey of growth.

For believing in us when we sometimes find it difficult to believe in ourselves, for giving us the courage to dream, helping us find the joy to learn, and the never-ending support to fight alongside us for inclusivity, 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙤!

‎On October 3, 2025, the annual SOGIE Summit was held with the theme "𝘌𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘉𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴: 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 21𝘴𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺 — 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘌𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺."The event aimed to promote a gender-sensitive university, advance equity in gender-related issues, and build alliances for gender advocacy.

‎The program began with welcome remarks from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐙. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, followed by an inspirational message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚 𝐀. 𝐎𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, which was presented on her behalf by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬.

‎This year’s summit featured valuable insights from two esteemed resource speakers: 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐌. 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐨, who discussed the 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨, and 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞, who tackled 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧-𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙧 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙜𝙚. Participants gained a deeper understanding of gender-related issues not only within the university but also on a global scale.

‎Following this enriching experience, the Gender Association Inc. conducted the induction of officers for its local gender clubs and the WMSU Gender Association Inc. officers and board members. The induction for the local gender club officers was led by 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐍. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬, while the WMSU Gender Association Inc. officers and board members were inducted by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐚𝐧, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬. The newly inducted officers pledged their commitment to serve and lead the organization with purpose—not only as youth leaders but also as advocates for gender equality.

‎The final activity of the event centered on fostering camaraderie among the officers of the local clubs. Through team-building exercises, participants were able to communicate effectively and build strong connections, fulfilling the primary goal of the activity.

‎Overall, the event was a resounding success—inspiring participants with knowledge, compassion, and unity. It marked the first major event of the organization for the school year, leaving a lasting impression on the students involved in its creation and ex*****on.

The speakers at this event aim to deepen understanding of key topics and inspire attendees with the sincere goal of sharing knowledge.

Meet our esteemed speakers who will lead gender advocates at the most anticipated seminar of the month, bringing together advocates from different colleges under Western Mindanao State University. Our first speaker, Asst. Prof. Arnold M. Ferolino, will discuss safe spaces, while our second speaker, Asst. Prof. Magnolia Grefalde, will address Gender-Fair Language.

The SOGIE SUMMIT 2025 will be held tomorrow under the theme "Equity Without Borders: Gender Strategies for the 21st Century — One University, One Equal Voice in Shaping Gender as a Global Priority."
