PHILIPPINES: ADVANCING A STRONGER HALAL INDUSTRY

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) hosted the 2026 Halal Industry Summit, focused on reinforcing and advancing the country's Halal ecosystem.

The summit brought together key players from government, commerce, industry, and religious sectors including the Ulama Council of Zamboanga Peninsula (UCZP). As a premier regional religious authority, the UCZP plays a vital role in providing authoritative Islamic guidance, ensuring strict Sharia compliance, and safeguarding the integrity of Halal standards across food production, certification, and trade.

Through this localized and sustained cooperation between state agencies and religious bodies, the initiative aims to expand the Halal economy, enhance local Halal products and services, and create broader opportunities for Filipino entrepreneurs.

Driven by this collaborative framework and the continuous growth of the Halal ecosystem, the Philippines aims to position itself as a premier nation in the global Halal market.
