The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Ang Kabataang Organisado (PYAP-AKO) Zamboanga City successfully convened its 3rd Quarter Meeting and Team Building on October 3–4, 2026, at Brea View Resort, Lumayang, Zamboanga City.

More than just a meeting and team-building activity, the gathering served as an opportunity for our members and leaders to connect, collaborate, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one organization. 🤝

During the gathering, we discussed and brainstormed our upcoming programs and activities, as well as proposed initiatives for 2027. As a non-government organization committed to empowering youth, PYAP-AKO Zamboanga City remains open to meaningful partnerships and collaborations with organizations, institutions, sponsors, and stakeholders across Zamboanga City.

This gathering reminded us that PYAP-AKO is not merely an organization that conducts meetings and activities—it is a community where we build genuine relationships, brotherhood and sisterhood, trust, teamwork, and solidarity. 💚

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the one and only City Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ma’am Socorro Rojas, our Division Chief, Sir Ronald Cervas, and our dedicated Supervisors from Field Offices 1-7, City Focal Person and Focal Persons from Field Offices 1–7 for their invaluable support, guidance, and continued commitment to our members and respective councils.

The 𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣-𝗔𝗞𝗢 𝗖𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 successfully conducted its 3rd Quarterly Meeting, bringing together our officers and board members, and members for 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in preparation for the upcoming 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 and other organizational activities and important matters.

Through collaboration and active participation, we continue to strengthen our plans and turn them into meaningful actions for the youth and our community.

Three days filled with 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, and 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀! 🫶🏻

The 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 (𝗘𝟮𝗘) 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮-𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣-𝗔𝗞𝗢 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held on August 29–31, 2026 at La Vista del Mar, Zamboanga City, was truly an experience to remember.

From 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗣𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, to the 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿-𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, every session gave us valuable lessons, insights, and knowledge that we can carry in our journey as youth leaders.

Beyond the learning, we enjoyed the 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺-𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿, 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘁, 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 that brought everyone closer and made the camp even more fun and memorable!

Most importantly, the camp gave us the opportunity to 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀, connect with fellow youth leaders, share experiences, and create bonds that we hope will continue beyond the camp. 🫂💚

We also learned how to turn our ideas into meaningful action through 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, reminding us that learning becomes more meaningful when we put it into action for our communities.

A heartfelt 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to the 𝗟𝗬𝗗𝗢 and 𝗖𝗦𝗪𝗗𝗢, especially to 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗠𝗮'𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗕. 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘀, our 𝗙𝗢𝟭 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗠𝗮'𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗰𝗼𝘆, to our 𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣-𝗔𝗞𝗢 𝗖𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 and 𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣-𝗔𝗞𝗢 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗠𝗿. So proud and honored to represent PYAP-AKO Barangay Cawit officers at the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Youth Summit held at the WMSU Gymnasium. The Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Youth Summit at WMSU Gymnasium gathered youth advocates, student organizations, and community leaders for a day of collaboration and purpose-driven leadership.

Key Highlights:

-State of the Youth Address: SK National President Hon. CJ Dalipe on leading with clear purpose.

-Keynote Message: NYC Chair Usec. Jeff Ortego on the vital role of youth in nation-building.

-Advocacy & Engagement: LYDC member expositions and PYAP-AKO Zamboanga City’s showcase on local programs and membership opportunities presented by Pres. Sai-in Daris.

‘MARCHA DE LOS JOVENES’ HIGHLIGHTS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2026

Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines–AKO Zamboanga City Chapter, together with thousands of young people from across the city, converged along Climaco Avenue to participate in the “Marcha de los Jovenes” and various advocacy campaigns in celebration of International Youth Day 2026 on Wednesday, August 12.

Representing different youth organizations, government offices, and non-government organizations, the participants marched from the City Fire Station to Paseo del Mar, showcasing their unique yells, waving colorful flaglets, and proudly wearing their respective organizational attire.

Upon reaching Paseo del Mar, various activities were conducted, including the main program, Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) Organization Fair, and the Mister and Miss Youth Ambassador Competition, highlighting youth participation, unity, leadership, and empowerment.

The celebration was organized by the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC), Sangguniang Kabataan–Zamboanga Federation, and Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) with the theme “Different Context, Common Aspirations.” The theme highlighted the diverse experiences of young people while recognizing the dreams, hopes, and aspirations that unite them.

The celebration was graced by Acting Mayor Beng Climaco, a champion of youth empowerment, together with Councilor Kim Villaflores, SK President and Councilor CJ Dalipe, and Assistant City Administrator and concurrent LYDO Christian Olasiman.

The Mister and Miss Youth Ambassador Competition served as one of the major highlights of the celebration. Eighteen candidates—9 females and 9 males—took center stage and showcased their confidence, talents, advocacies, and full potential, embodying the empowered and dynamic spirit of Zamboanga’s youth.

Adding color to the celebration were various booths organized by participating offices, agencies, and youth organizations. These booths provided engaging activities, useful information, and opportunities for participants to interact, connect, and build meaningful partnerships.

The celebration served as a powerful reminder that despite coming from different contexts and backgrounds, young people share common aspirations for a better, more inclusive, peaceful, and empowered future.

The Fire Burning Within Our Youths! ❤️‍🔥
From Zamboanga City to Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte! Our officers proudly joined youth leaders from across the region to celebrate the 52nd Founding Anniversary of the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines - Ang Kabataan Organisado (PYAP-AKO) held last July 31, 2026, at the Balay Dangpanan sa Kabataan (BDSK). 🚌🛖

Bringing this year’s empowering theme, “Sustaining the Flame: Institutionalizing Empowered Leadership, Strengthening Governance, and Advancing Development Pathways for a Future-Ready PYAP-AKO,” our chapter took part in inspiring discussions and a meaningful Learning Exchange Visit to BDSK and the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY). Connecting with fellow youth, sharing experiences, and engaging in peer learning truly fueled our passion to lead with purpose! 🔥

Thank you so much to DSWD Field Office IX, led by PSD Chief Rowena R. Mendoza, BDSK Center Head Ma. Eva E. Avila, and Children and Youth Focal Person Safia R. Crisostomo, for spearheading this activity, extending the invitation, and continuously championing youth empowerment and creating platforms for transformative leadership!
