The stars have finally aligned as we look back on Celestial Voices: Navigating Identity and Borders last April 15, 2026, at the Tee King Hall, Sauras Extension Building! 🌌

This panel discussion was more than just a conversation; it was a profound exploration of the transgender experience, treated not as a singular point on a map, but as a vast and luminous journey across the cosmos. 🔭 Through the lens of our incredible speakers, Ms. Zaara Rinrada Althani and Ms. Mat-mat Mendoza, we were able to navigate the complex intersections of self-perception and the societal "borders" that often attempt to define or confine trans identities.

MEET THE SPEAKER | Mat-Mat Mendoza

Curious who'll meet you in our cosmos of trans narratives and identities? 🤔

Look no further, voyagers! Our second featured speaker is currently serving as President of the Supreme Students Council at Colegio De La Ciudad de Zamboanga – Ayala Campus: Ms. Mat-Mat Mendoza! 🌠

Her dedication has been honored with numerous awards, including the Leadership Award and Supreme Student Government Award, reflecting her unwavering commitment to service. She has participated in transformative platforms, as well as various seminars, training sessions, and events such as the HIV and Anti-Drug Campaign (2022), LGBT Seminar – Orgullo (2022), Gender and Development Seminar (2025), Trans Congress 2026, the Safe Spaces Caravan 2026, and the Philippine Anti-Discrimination Alliance of Youth Leaders in Manila (2025), among others.

MEET THE SPEAKER | Zaara Rinrada Althani

Curious who'll meet you in our cosmos of trans narratives and identities? 🤔

Look no further, voyagers! Our first featured speaker is the Founder and President of the UNLA MASCARA Gender and Development Organization, where she leads initiatives promoting gender equality, inclusivity, and community empowerment: Ms. Zaara Rinrada Althani! ⭐️

She proudly represented Region IX at the LGBTQIA+ Congress held at the University of the Philippines (2024–2025). She is also frequently invited as a speaker in various events and forums that focus on gender, inclusivity, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. Her life story has been studied by a professor from Far Eastern University and has also been documented and featured during IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia,
Biphobia, and Transphobia). In recognition of her outstanding leadership and dedication to the community, she was awarded as one of the Outstanding Presidents in LGBTQIA+ advocacy.
