After months of deep prayer and discernment, CLC Zamboanga joyfully presents the newly elected members of the Regional Leadership Community (RLC).

Our newly elected RLC members are:

As we embrace this new mission, we do so with grateful and humble hearts, trusting that God will continue to lead us every step of the way. We pray for the grace to serve with love, generosity, and the spirit of Magis—always seeking the greater good and the greater glory of God.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bro. James Ryan Seneriches SJ, our JHS YCLC Moderator, for accompanying, leading, and guiding us throughout our journey of prayer and discernment. Thank you for your wisdom, encouragement, and presence as we sought to respond faithfully to God's call to serve.

May this new chapter be one of faithful leadership, genuine collaboration, and joyful service. Every decision we make, every discernment we undertake, and every act of service we offer, we entrust to God.

Prayer Session + Pre-discernment Spiritual Conversation

We shared on the fruits of our Personal Prayer, as we reflected in gratitude for our formation and journey in CLC.

With the communal prayer guide shared by our COMELEC Brother James Ryan Seneriches, SJ, we prayed over, communally discerned on members of our CLC Zamboanga communities whom we think and feel are called to serve in the Regional Leadership Community, taking note of their core strengths, and areas where they need support 🙏

We received the graces of peace, of generosity of response, of openness, of integration of gifts and charisms of both young and once young members 🙏

God bless us all in this shared journey of faith, hope and love 🙏

CLC Zamboanga
Grief Recollection, Prayer Session and Eucharistic Celebration
June 28, 2026

We thank Father Joel Liwanag for guiding us in this consoling and healing prayer session, where we processed our grief, remembered and honored our beloved brother-in-Christ Jhon Michael “Tuti” Dimasuay Rojas (+), and we thank Father Joel for also celebrating the Eucharist with us as we prayed for Tuti’s eternal repose, for all our intentions and for the souls entrusted to our CLC Mass Card Prayer Apostolate 🙏 We trust that our Tuti is embraced by God in His love and light, along with all the angels and saints in heaven 🙏

We thank Brother James Ryan Seneriches SJ for his generosity in being our Comelec for our upcoming Regional Leadership Community elections 🩵 and sharing discernment points with the community, reminding us to begin with gratitude and to discern graces received in our CLC journey 🙏

Last May 15–17, 2026, the CLC Zamboanga adult communities came together for our Annual Ignatian Silent Retreat at St. Joseph Ipil Seminary, Putik, Zamboanga City.
Our retreat centered on two themes: (1) Principle and Foundation and (2) The Call of the King. These themes invited us to return to the basic foundation of CLC community life. During those grace-filled days, we prayed for the grace to know God’s personal love for each of us (cura personalis), to recognize that everything in our lives is a gift meant to lead us back to Him, and to realize that the first call is always a call to relationship—to simply be with Him.

In addition to these themes, we also revisited and reflected on the NA Graces 2025 that were shared during the National Assembly last August 2025, allowing us to deepen our understanding and be purposeful in integrating these graces in our community life.

All these fruits and graces we received were made possible through the guidance of our retreat master, Fr. Dario Miguel Saniel, SJ—National Ecclesiastical Assistant of Christian Life Community in the Philippines. We are deeply grateful for Fr. Dario’s generous “yes” to CLC Zamboanga and for journeying with us throughout the retreat.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ate Gernalyn Potestas, our Formation Coordinator, for lovingly preparing everything to ensure a smooth, prayerful, and reflective retreat experience.

We are likewise grateful to the Christian Life Community in the Philippines (CLCP) for their financial assistance and support, which helped make this retreat possible.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF JHON MICHAEL “TUTI” D. ROJAS

It is with deep sadness and sorrowful loss that we announce that our friend and brother-in-Christ Jhon Michael “Tuti” D. Rojas has returned to our Lord and Creator on the evening of Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Tuti was an active member and officer of Christian Life Community in his college years with Ateneo de Zamboanga University CLC (2012-2016), and a committed, young professional member of Camino Nuevo CLC (2016-2026). He has served with generosity as ADZU Senior High School Youth Christian Life Community moderator (2016-2023), and as Secretary of our Regional Leadership Community of CLC Zamboanga (2019-2022). He lived out a life of faith in community and service in our CLC Zamboanga prayer sessions, apostolates, regional assemblies, and in Christian Life Community in the Philippines (CLCP) – actively participating and facilitating fellowship sessions, bringing joy, smiles and fun during the National Convention in Zamboanga in 2017, National Convention in Baguio in 2018, the National Assembly in Trece Martires in 2019, and the National Convention (online) in 2021. He served as host, facilitator and animator during the CLC Youth Assembly in 2024, with the CLCP Youth Development Team.

Sir JM – as he was known to his students - was also a beloved Subject Area Coordinator for Ignatian Spirituality and Philosophy at Ateneo de Zamboanga University Senior High School – teaching with care and compassion, inspiring his students to live out Ignatian values, to be contemplatives in action.

He always had an animated way of communicating with each person, with his unique warmth, humor, joy for life, and positive energy (Energy check? Check na Check!). His witty one-liners always made us laugh. His infectious smile (that highlights his dimples) made everyone feel welcomed, accepted, appreciated for who they are. He had a genuine kindness, and a creative, nurturing spirit that radiated to all his colleagues, students, friends and his ADZU SHS and CLC communities.

He was very creative and talented – and he shared this generously in many ways: teaching Math so that students can grasp complicated concepts in a simple way; being an engaging and vivo emcee for CLC activities; caring for our environment by gardening and leading ADZU SHS YCLC in a river cleanup; leading our body prayer + praise dance during ADZU CLC Grand Reunion 2019; sewing projects: clothes, pillowcases; creating papercutting art; organizing our first Mother’s Day Recollection for our own mothers in CLC Zamboanga last May 2024, and many other acts of generosity and creative care that he shared freely with others.

We have all been trying to come to terms with his aneurysm attack last December 2025, as we have always known Tuti to be physically active with his exercise, jogging and bike routines. While these past few months of his health challenges had taken its toll on him physically, he was resilient throughout this journey, he fought a good fight with the caring support of his family, friends and loved ones. In our hearts, we will always remember his life-giving presence and his loving soul.

Wake will be held at Rojas Residence, Upper Canucutan, Pasonanca, from April 15 to April 23, 2026.

Interment will be held on April 23, 2026. | 2:30 PM Funeral Mass
at Holy Trinity Parish, Km.5, Pasonanca, Zamboanga City
He will be interred at Sta. Maria Public Cemetery.

Our CLC Zamboanga Community will be sponsoring a wake mass, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 5:30 PM. Please join us as we come together to offer our mass intentions and offer all our prayers for Tuti’s eternal repose.

Please also pray for God to console his family and CLC community in this difficult time of grief.

Rest in God’s peace, Tuti. Vaya con Dios.
Eternal rest grant unto Tuti, O Lord, may Your Perpetual Light shine upon him and grant him peace.

We always love you, Tuti, and we will truly miss you 🩵🙏

AGAPE BREAKFAST
APRIL 05, 2026
CLC ZAMBOANGA

He is Risen. Alleluia! Alleluia! 🤍

In celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, the CLC Zamboanga members from different communities gathered for our Agape Breakfast.

More than just a simple gathering, it was a beautiful opportunity not only to rejoice that Jesus is alive, but also to reconnect with one another. As we shared food, we also shared stories — the fruits of our reflections and the graces we received during the Holy Week.

The Agape Breakfast was headed by Ate Gern, our Formation Coordinator and the opening prayer was led by our Regional EA, Fr. Joel Liwanag, SJ. We are truly grateful to Fr. Joel for his generosity in sharing his time and presence with us.

We would also like to thank our adult CLC members for their donations and sponsorship, which made this agape celebration possible. Your generosity allowed us to gather in joy and gratitude.

We concluded the activity with a fun egg-hunting game. Congratulations to Ate Reyna from CLC MASCAFE for winning the game!

Indeed, the Resurrection is not only proclaimed — it is experienced in community, in sharing, and in joy.

CLC ZAMBOANGA APOSTOLATE

Last March 28, 2026, at the AdZU Grade School Campus, we concluded our Year 2 Apostolate with our adopted community — Caridad.

It was made possible through the presence and dedication of our different Adult CLC communities, YCLC (JHS and SHS), CLC College, and our non-YCLC volunteers from Colombiere and Faber Class. Each one generously gave their time and effort to make our final apostolate both meaningful and fruitful.

For this last session, we thank the JHS YCLC for taking the lead, guided by their moderator, Bro. James SJ . The catechism session centered on the Parable of the Talents — a beautiful reminder that each of us is entrusted with gifts meant to be shared. In line with this, our YCLC members showcased their talents, and so did our Caridad kids. It was inspiring to witness their confidence and joy.

After the catechism session, the Caridad kids, together with our YCLC, CLC College, and non-YCLC volunteers, participated in an Amazing Race. The activity created a space for connection, teamwork, and laughter — strengthening the bond between our CLC volunteers and the Caridad children. Meanwhile, as the Amazing Race was ongoing, our Adult CLC members paired with the Caridad parents for the Year 2 evaluation. It was a meaningful time of listening, reflecting, and assessing our journey with the community.

We concluded the apostolate with simple tokens and a shared meal for both the parents and the children — a humble but heartfelt way of ending another year of mission and companionship.
Despite the tight schedule and limited budget, everything pushed through because of the generosity of our sponsors. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to:

• CLC College – for providing transportation
• YCLC JHS and Faber Class – for sponsoring the lunch of the Caridad kids
• Colombiere Class – for the loot bags
• Ate Jeng – for sponsoring the lunch of the Caridad parents

As we close Year 2 with our Caridad community, we also extend our deep gratitude to:

• Our Caridad volunteers – for cooking during our feeding sessions and ensuring the venue is clean before and after each gathering
• Tumaga Parish and its staff – for allowing us to use the parish hall for our sessions

Above all, we thank God for sustaining us from the beginning until the very end.

A blessed celebration of World CLC Day ✨

Today, we unite as one community in prayer and mission, contemplating the grace of the Annunciation—the courageous “yes” of Mary that continues to inspire our own response to God’s call.

“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)

In communion with CLC communities around the world, we lift our prayer intentions:

Amid the darkness and uncertainty faced by many nations and families, we pray for hope to be rekindled. We entrust to the Lord all who live in fear, those burdened by economic hardship, migration, and social inequality, and those whose faith is tested by difficult circumstances.

We pray especially for those who are forced to flee their homelands, seeking safety, dignity, and a future for their families. Like the Holy Family journeying into Egypt, may they be protected and accompanied, and may the world become a place of refuge and compassion.

We also remember families who struggle to remain united in love, and all those who feel silenced, weary, or uncertain about the future. May they be granted renewed hope, courage, and trust in God’s faithful presence.

Like Mary, may we open ourselves to God’s call—even in uncertainty—and become bearers of Christ’s light in a world longing for peace.
