✨ MARCHA DE LOS JOVENES 2026 ✨

Join us on August 12 as we celebrate International Youth Day through the Marcha de los Jovenes, happening from the City Fire Station to Paseo del Mar!

This year’s celebration carries the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” highlighting the diverse experiences of young people while recognizing the dreams, hopes, and aspirations that unite us all.

The Marcha de los Jovenes is one of the exciting activities of Linggo ng Kabataan in Zamboanga City, bringing together young people in a celebration of youth participation, unity, and empowerment.

Get to know and connect with the different youth organizations that are members of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC), discover their advocacies and initiatives, and find opportunities to get involved and make a difference in our community.

A new term begins, bringing with it renewed commitment to youth-led action and community development. To our new officers, congratulations! This is a call to serve, listen, collaborate, and create opportunities for fellow young people. CAYA GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2026 | A NEW CHAPTER OF YOUTH-LED ACTION

Last August 2, 2026, the Community Association of Youth in Action (CAYA) successfully conducted its General Assembly at Ongcoy Residence, Lumbangan, Zamboanga City, bringing together members and youth leaders for a day of reflection, consultation, planning, and renewed commitment to youth-led action.

The Assembly provided an important space for members to reconnect with the organization’s vision, discuss the direction of CAYA, and collectively shape the organization’s next chapter. Among the key matters discussed were the proposed amendments to the CAYA Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), aimed at strengthening the organization’s governance, accountability, leadership structures, and mechanisms for meaningful youth participation. The members also engaged in discussions on the projects and programs that CAYA will undertake for Organization Year 2026–2028, exploring initiatives that respond to the realities, aspirations, and needs of young people and communities.

An important highlight of the General Assembly was the recognition of the new set of CAYA Officers for Organization Year 2026–2028. As a new generation of leaders steps forward, CAYA renews its commitment to building a space where young people are empowered not only to participate, but to lead, organize, innovate, and take action.

Here’s to another chapter of learning, organizing, serving, and making change happen together. ✊

Buwan ng Wika 2026
"Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon"

Nakikiisa ang Community Association of Youth in Action (CAYA) sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, bilang pagkilala sa Wikang Filipino bilang mahalagang sandigan ng ating pagkakakilanlan, pagkakaisa, at aktibong pakikilahok sa lipunan. Sa panahon ng mabilis na pag-unlad ng teknolohiya at Artificial Intelligence (AI), naniniwala ang CAYA na ang wikang Filipino ay nananatiling makapangyarihang kasangkapan upang maipahayag ang kaalaman, mapalawak ang pananaliksik, at maging tulay sa mas inklusibo at makabuluhang pagpapalitan ng impormasyon.

Bilang isang samahang nagsusulong ng aktibong pagkamamamayan, bolunterismo, at makabuluhang partisipasyon ng kabataan, hinihikayat natin ang bawat kabataan na yakapin ang makabagong teknolohiya nang may pananagutan at gamitin ito upang higit pang mapaunlad ang ating wika, kultura, at mga pamayanan. Ang AI ay hindi kapalit ng talino at pagkamalikhain ng tao, kundi isang katuwang upang mas mapalawak ang oportunidad sa pagkatuto, inobasyon, at paglilingkod.

Sa CAYA, naniniwala tayo na ang tunay na pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa kabataang may kamalayan sa kanyang pinagmulan, may pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika, at may kakayahang gamitin ang makabagong teknolohiya para sa kabutihang panlahat. Patuloy nating isulong ang isang henerasyong may pagmamalaki sa Wikang Filipino, may pananagutan sa paggamit ng AI, at may malasakit sa pagbuo ng isang mas maunlad, makatarungan, at makataong lipunan.

March 30, 2026 - Youth SPACE (Strengthening Participation and Awareness through Comprehensive Education): Stress First Aid 🧠💚

As part of the culmination of Mental Health Awareness Month, Youth SPACE: Stress First Aid gathered youth leaders from Zamboanga City. This provided youth leaders with valuable insights and skills to better understand and manage stress while supporting their overall well-being.

Tackling practical coping strategies, self-awareness tools, and healthy approaches to navigating the emotional and mental challenges commonly encountered in academic, personal, and social settings.

The activity was co-facilitated by the LEaP! Programme of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University – Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (AdZU-ALTEC) and the UNICEF Philippines.

As the session concluded, participants were reminded of the importance of caring for their mental health through the words of Marilu Henner:

"Stress is an important dragon to slay or at least tame in your life."

The Community Association of Youth in Action (CAYA) proudly presents, Youth SPACE: Stress First Aid, a youth-centered initiative dedicated to promoting mental wellness, stress management, and psychosocial awareness among young people in Zamboanga City.

As part of the culmination of Mental Health Awareness Month, this activity aims to equip youth leaders with practical coping strategies, self-awareness tools, and healthy ways to navigate emotional and mental challenges commonly experienced in academic, personal, and social environments.

Registration lasts until tomorrow, May 29, 2026, 11:59 PM. Activity will be on May 30, 12:00 NN – 5:00 PM at Benjamin Lim Go Learning Center, Hilda Walstrom Building, AdZU Lantaka Campus. 60 slots is available (First Come, First to Secure).
