LGU Zamboanga Issues Enforcement Orders in Brgy. Boalan
The City Zoning Administrator has issued official notices and "Cease and Desist" orders to several property and business owners in Barangay Boalan to address illegal obstructions. This action is the result of a joint effort between the Barangay Council and City Government agencies.
Targeted Areas and Actions:
Zone-5 (Creek Modification): Owners must show proof of permit and re-open the waterway. The illegal alterations turned productive rice fields into swamps.
Zone-2 (Warehouse Construction): Owner is required to show permits and install a permanent drainage system to stop the waterlogging affecting the Perez and Falcasantos neighborhoods.
Tala Boalan (J&V Fernandez Road): Orders were issued to a car company and a construction supplies retailer / Depot to clear obstructions and construct proper drainage to accommodate rain water in the area.
MCLL Highway (Eatery/Carinderia): A "Cease and Desist" order was issued to a business for encroaching on the DPWH Road Right-of-Way and obstructing the NIA irrigation canal.
The Barangay Council vows to continue monitoring these cases until the waterways are fully restored and the safety and livelihoods of Boalan residents are protected.
