The newly installed Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Paranas Fire Station, SFO3 Marlix Anthony G Obong, paid a courtesy call to Ms. Dina R. Isanan, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Paranas, Samar, to strengthen coordination and foster a stronger partnership between the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The courtesy call highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in promoting fire safety, disaster preparedness, and community protection. The newly installed Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Paranas Fire Station, SFO3 Marlix Anthony G Obong, paid a courtesy call to Hon. Elvira U. Paranas Fire Station Personnel, under the supervision of SFO3 Marlix Anthony G Obong, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a Fire Ground Readiness activity and firetruck maintenance check-up to ensure the preparedness, operational capability, and immediate response of its personnel and firefighting equipment.

The activity included checking essential firefighting equipment, assessing the condition and readiness of the firetruck, and conducting necessary maintenance to ensure that all equipment remains functional and ready for deployment at any time.

Regular readiness drills and preventive maintenance are vital in strengthening our response capabilities and ensuring the safety of our firefighters and the communities we serve.

🔥 BFP PARANAS FIRE STATION | FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN 🔥

BFP Paranas Fire Station personnel under the supervision of SFO3 Marlix Anthony G Obong, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted the distribution of Fire Safety Leaflets to residents and motorists within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) as part of the continuing campaign to raise awareness on the increased risk of fires during the El Niño season.

☀️ During hot and dry weather, vegetation and surrounding areas become more susceptible to fire. The public is reminded to:

🚭 Avoid throwing lighted cigarette butts on roadsides, grasslands, and dry areas.
🔥 Do not practice kaingin or uncontrolled burning.
⚡ Check electrical connections and appliances for possible fire hazards.
🧯 Keep fire extinguishers and other firefighting tools readily available.
📞 Immediately report any fire incident to the nearest fire station.

Let us all work together to prevent fires and protect our families, properties, and communities.

The Paranas Fire Station personnel participated in the Water Safety Symposium and Team Development Activity held at Lagbangan Eco Park, San Antonio, Northern Samar, on October 2–3, 2026.

The activity provided an opportunity to enhance the personnel’s knowledge and awareness on water safety, drowning prevention, emergency preparedness, and appropriate response during water-related incidents.

Alongside the learning sessions, the Team Development Activity strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, communication, trust, and cooperation among BFP personnel—essential qualities in ensuring an effective and coordinated response during emergencies.

Through continuous learning and team development, the BFP remains committed to building a competent, cohesive, and responsive firefighting team dedicated to protecting lives and properties.
