“Listening to Youth, Building Futures, Strengthening Communities”

On May 26, 2026, at Daniel’s Place, Wao, Lanao del Sur, 20 Indigenous Peoples Youth from various barangays in Wao, Lanao del Sur came together to share their voices, experiences, aspirations, and challenges. This meaningful conversation became a space of hope, solidarity, and vision for stronger communities.

Some participants beautifully expressed:

“Nalipay gid kami nga naka-join kami sani nga event! Salamat tungakay!

"Damo gid kami nabal-an kag damo kami na friends"

"Mas na-aware na kami sa gaka-hitabo sa palibot, kag na-share man namon ang amon nga kaagi.”

𝙇𝘼𝙆𝙈𝘼 proudly takes part in the 2-Day Ranaw Youth Development Council Continuing Mandatory Planning and Workshop held March 30-31 at Go Hotels Iligan.

The planning and workshop focused on building a strong foundation for responsive and peace-oriented youth development planning, an essential step toward creating inclusive, proactive, and transformative programs in every communities in the province of Lanao Del Sur.

A special thanks to Ranaw Youth Development Office, Teach Peace Build Peace Movement, and GCERF for organizing and making this event possible.Together with our fellow Ranaw Youth Development Council council members and TPBPM Lanao Circle SALAM for Peace Collectives.

𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 20-22, 2026 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙤 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮.

This training equipped participants with essentials knowledge and practical skills in providing 𝙥𝙨𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙞𝙙, 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 and 𝙥𝙨𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩, particularly in responding to the needs of human rights defenders and communities in distress.

WAO TOWN PLAZA — Matagumpay na idinaos ang “Pamuhat” o ang Tribal Thanks giving noong Pebrero 13, 2026, alas-7:00 ng umaga.

Sa temang “ 𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴: 𝗣𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻,”nagsilbing pambungad ang ritwal na ito para sa masiglang pagdiriwang ng Kariyala Festival.

Ang Pamuhat ay isang sagradong tradisyonna naglalayong humingi ng basbas para sa isang masagana, ligtas, at mapayapang selebrasyon ng Araw ng Wao.

Dinaluhan ang nasabing aktibidad ng mga kagalang-galang na Tribal Elders, mga kabataan, at iba’t ibang organisasyon ng IP sa buong munisipalidad. Naging posible ang pagtitipon na ito sa suporta ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Wao sa pamumuno ni Mayor Elvino Balicao Jr., katuwang sina Municipal IPMR Glory Cabatbat at Provincial IPMR Shiela Gul Derdani Ganda.

Nagpaabot din ng taus-pusong pasasalamat ang komunidad sa lahat na mga kapatid mula sa ibat-ibang tribu ng Wao at sa Higaonon mula sa Tagoloan na nakiisa sa layunin, pati na rin kay Bae Aldelfa Saway Kinuyog (Bae Balignao), ang g**o sa School of Living Tradition, at ang kilalang lady warrior na si Apo Pigsayo mula sa Bukidnon .

Ang ritwal na ito ay hindi lamang panalangin para sa masaganang ani, kundi isang paalala na ang pag-unlad ng Wao ay nakaugat sa paggalang sa ating kultura at pagkakaisa ng bawat tribu.

𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗦𝗢𝗗 𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪𝗜 — 𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗠𝗔, 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗥𝗬𝗗𝗖

Idinaos ng 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (RYDC) ang ika-4 na Regular na Pagpupulong noong Disyembre 22, 2025 sa Social Hall, New Capitol Complex, Lungsod ng Marawi—isang mahalagang hakbang sa pagpapatibay ng pamamahalang nakabatay sa kabataan sa Lanao del Sur.

Sa naturang sesyon, sinimulan ng konseho ang paunang talakayan hinggil sa RYDC Rules of Procedure at isinagawa ang opisyal na panunumpa ng mga bagong halal na miyembro. Itinampok ng kaganapan ang kolektibong pangako ng konseho na palakasin ang pamamahalang inklusibo at nakasentro sa kabataan, na naglalayong maghatid ng makabuluhan at positibong pagbabago sa mga pamayanan ng lalawigan.

Kasabay nito, isinagawa ang panunumpa ng mga bagong miyembro ng konseho, kabilang ang LAKMA. Dumalo sa nasabing seremonya ang Co-Founding Chair ng LAKMA na si Lynzel Sialmo, na opisyal na nanumpa para sa katungkulan.

Nagsagawa rin ng courtesy visit ang konseho sa Tanggapan ng Gobernador ng Lanao del Sur, kung saan nakipagpulong sila kay 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙈𝙤𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙙 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙 𝙈𝙪𝙟𝙖𝙢 𝘼𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙜, Pangalawang Gobernador ng lalawigan. Tinalakay ang mga mahahalagang direksyon at pakikipagtulungan na inaasahan upang higit pang maisulong ang mga programa para sa kaunlaran ng kabataan sa buong Lanao del Sur.

Sa opisyal na pagkakabilang ng LAKMA sa RYDC, inaasahan ng konseho na mas lalo pang maipapalakas ang iba’t ibang tinig, mapatatag ang mga ugnayan, at makalikha ng mas malalim na epekto para sa sektor ng kabataan.
