Patanor ni VUSA Gives 150 Students a Free Ride on the First Day of Classes

At Patanor ni VUSA, we believe that helping the community does not always have to be grand. Sometimes, even a simple ride to school can make a difference.

To support our learners on the first day of classes, we launched our Libreng Sakay sa Pasukan program, providing free transportation to 150 student passengers traveling from Vintar to Laoag City. With the help of eight jeepneys, students were able to reach their schools safely, comfortably, and without spending on fare.

This initiative is our small way of helping families as they prepare for another school year. We know that every peso matters, especially during the opening of classes when school expenses are at their highest. Through this program, we hoped to ease a little of that burden and give our students a better start to the school year.

Seeing the smiles of the students and hearing their words of gratitude reminded us why community service matters. Their dreams and determination inspire us to continue finding ways to support them.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this activity possible, especially our sponsors and scholars who share our goal of serving the people of Vintar.

As we begin another school year, Patanor ni VUSA remains committed to programs that put people first. We may have started with a simple free ride, but we hope it carries a much bigger message: when a community comes together, we can help our students move closer to their dreams.

PATANOR NI VUSA presents PROJECT SURAY

A single mobility cane may seem simple, but for someone struggling to walk, it means HOPE.

โ€œSurayโ€ an Ilocano word meaning support, brace, or assistance. An initiative that aims to distribute mobility canes to selected senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and individuals recovering from accidents or illnesses in Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

Inspired by the kindness and generosity of the late Mr. Alex Camaquin, whose support to scholars and community members touched many lives, the Project Suray was conceptualized to continue his legacy of compassion and service to others.
