A student from Viga Rural Development High School (VRDHS) Senior High School Campus experienced hyperventilation due to the extreme heat, earlier this afternoon on July 1.

Volunteers of VRDHS Red Cross Youth Council (RCY) successfully responded to the patient with additional aid from the Viga Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

In light of the ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐๐ƒ๐‘) ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก ๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, the VRDHS-RCY would like to extend their appreciation to the Viga MDRRMO for their response and preparedness in any medical emergency.

With the recent humid weather, VRDHS-RCY reminds everyone to stay hydrated, wear light and loose-fitting clothes, avoid any exhausting outdoor activities, and stay in cool areas to avoid heat-related emergencies.

8 students from Viga Rural Development High School (VRDHS) felt weak and collapsed from the extreme heat during the Mass of the Holy Spirit on 3:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M that was held in the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, June 26.

The VRDHS Red Cross Youth Council (RCY), with the assistance of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), brought 6 students to immediate care at the Viga District Hospital.

May this serve as a reminder to everyone to keep yourselves cool by regularly drinking water, wearing comfortable clothes, and by using umbrellas to keep yourself shaded to be safe from the heat.

This Thursday, Viga Rural Development High School (VRDHS) took part in the 2๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฐ๐ข๐๐ž ๐’๐ข๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ž๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐„๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐ƒ๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ earlier at 9:00am which aims to enhance the preparedness, response capability, and awareness of learners, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff.

With this, the VRDHS Red Cross Youth Council proudly partook on the earthquake drill to practice alertness during service, while guiding students into order and safety.

This small drill holds big importance for the safety of students and the readiness of our future livesavers.

A reminder that service goes beyond responseโ€”sometimes, it means nurturing life and protecting the environment we all share.

With hands in the soil and hearts set on change, the Viga Red Cross Youth Council (๐‘๐‚๐˜๐‚) joined a tree planting activity on March 22, 2026, at San Jose (OCO) River in Viga, Catanduanes.

Together with volunteers and partner organizations, trees were planted as symbols of ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ๐ž, ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ to building a greener and flood-safe community.
